  1. I'd LOVE to see a 36 and a Model A coupe that don't have separate roofs!
  2. I absolutly HATE models with separate roofs! I'm going to start on the AMT 36 Ford, and I'm dreading it. Here's my question. The body and roof don't fit together very well. Do you glue one side, let it dry and reinforce and THEN the other? Maybe you think that's stupid, but I want to know what has worked for you! PLEASE, no snarky replies.
  3. The 40 is one of the most beaufiful designs ever and your does it justice quite nicely! A clean, nice build, Really like it.
  4. NICE, just looking at this car in an ancient HRM coverage of the Winters. The Polar Lights 64 GTO is just simplified, but IS NOT a bad representation of the real thing ( in my view) I have six of the, I'm going to build the spectrum in 64 65. From stock, to hot street, to drag stock, to early blown stocker to match racing funny cars. Take a look at 'em! Again, NICE JOB ON A VERY HISTORICAL SUBJECT!
  5. Nice job. Did you use a Monaco body there? Am I seeing correctly? Any Monaco parts left over?
  6. Good thinking !! It isn't necessary to have grooved pulleys! I hadn't thought of doing it your way, but it looks great and really simplifies the whole thing! Great, JUST what I've been looking for, thank you !!!!!
  7. Amazing! Absolutely amazing! Looks like the real thing! GREAT WORK!
  8. Nice tan! MAN do I ever remember these kits! GROOVY MAN!
  9. LOL Well, now let's get back to models, again I'b be very interested in setups you have actually made guys.I can think of several methods, but I'd love to see your work. Again, not "THEORY", but what you glued together! Thanks in advance.
  10. I had no idea that Linberg had such an extensive line of 1/32 cars! I didn't pay much attention to models in the 70's. Look like fun.
  11. Keep posting.I'd use the Lindberg 53 motor myself. Cool car, good luck!
  12. I've seen a LOT of drag cars ( real one ) in my time, this one has the look! Good job man! Burn up that quarter mile!
  13. Thanks for the friendly replies. You know who you are. Oh wait! SOME of you read what I wrote! I'll leave it to the reader to decide what that might refer to, meanwhile if you BUILT YOURSELF, rather than purchased a belt arraignment like this, I'd love to see pics or a tutorial! I do enjoy the replies of modelers without the chips on their shoulders! Again thanks!
  14. Really no reason for it that I can see! Blower belts had been molded for quite a few years without it. That's why I say poorly executed , it does appear to be an attempt at a multi belt setup. It's really too bad, we could really use a decent multi belt part. Which makes me ask, any of you make one? How did you do it, what did you use??? Not just suggestions or ideas, but DID you actually make one?
  15. Beautiful paint, nice work!
  16. A cool lineup of MoPars! I'm a Chrysler man myself, I came from a MoPar family. Nearly everyone drove a Chrysler product! I'll never get over the demise of Plymouth, my favorite cars are Plymouths. The 63 is such a cool car, I remember cars with those nice red interiors! I have several 63's, I hope they turn out a nice as yours. A nice tribute to a lost friend.
  17. This shows what can be done with skill and patience! This kit is fiddly and simplified, I say so what? Are we not supposed to be craftsmen? This is one Willys that the snob rivet counter love to trash, "OH THAT FRONT END"!!! LOL Yep. It's not Willys microscopic accurate, but close enough and can fit and look good in the hands of a capable modeler such as yourself. Keep us posted, very nice work!
  18. Wasn't referring to a chrome part, but the blower belt itself. It looks like three belts put together, which was common, actually the ONLY arraignment until specialty Gilmer belts were made. You had several small (width ) v belts on several separate pulleys. Like this modern Ardun. Other than chain drives and the odd gear drives, Gilmer belts more than one inch wide weren't made. The typical mid 60's Gilmer had grown to three inches.
  19. Opinion time My old issue of the 49 has an odd blower belt for the supercharged Cadillac option. Do you think it's a poor representation of a multi belt/ pulley system, or a poorly executed 3 inch belt? The multi belt option would be more "period" accurate, it sort of "slants" down towards the front. I'm just curious what you guys think. What say ye? Does the new issue have the same belt?
  20. Nice work on a rare and obscure kit! These things are strange, typical exner, both ugly and cool at the same time. You did a nice job!
  21. She is drag royalty. You should see who drops by the 1000 ft bleachers when she's there! Try Prudhomme. Roland Leong. every fuel racer from the 70's on! Sat next to Butch Leal! She is a classy woman!!!
