  1. Some really nice looking competition machines. Thanks for sharing them.
  2. Very good looking build, also like your display. I would love to find a set of wheels and tires like those for a build I have in mind.
  3. I do pretty much the same, but will often leave the excess inside the block.
  4. Excellent conversion work on this Impala. I am truly amazed at all the detail work you put in this one, especially the changes to the interior.
  5. If I can get off this infernal contraption, I want to go into my basement and start the search for my modeling work area. It is raining outside and scheduled to continue through the weekend so anything outside is out of the question.

  7. Another one snuck up on me. Exceptionally nice build, not quite ready for 'white-glove inspection' but looks the part of a mission oriented truck.
  8. I have also used this technique on a 57 Chrysler I am customizing, works great. Don't know how I missed this build, but I am awe-struck with the amount of detail you are putting into it. Going to be beautiful when finished.
  9. Looking good, this is one of my favorite Mercurys. They looked good in NASCAR livery, in funny car drag, and also in 'Day 2' design. Watching this build come together.
  10. I completely understand the "zero insulation" issue. I am living in the house my father had built in 1963. At that time full insulation would have cost an additional $800, the cost of building the house was $18,000. My father, having lived in noninsulated houses his whole life decided the extra cost was unnecessary. After my parents passed and I got the house, I had as much of the house insulated as possible. However, the den, dining room, and kitchen are all one area and lined with 6" tongue and groove pine paneling, there is no way to insulate behind that. The other parts of the house are drywall which is simple to insulate: cut a hole in the drywall, blow in the insulation, patch the hole. I did not want to destroy the original paneling, so there is a noticeable difference in temperature in the different parts of my house.
  11. Beautiful pair of funny cars. Some really nice work. Also like your display diorama.
  12. Something to keep in mind, if you by chance enjoy short track builds, is to keep that Vega rear body section. That body, a representation of a Tri-Five Chevy frame, BBC, and some wide tires and you have an early 80's short track modified( i.e. the AMT Rat Trap Vega). Really enjoying watching this build come together, your work is very impressive as is your vision of a finished project.
  13. Really taking shape nicely, very nice details on the engine. The electronic gizmo you used for a fuel filter is a diode, I bought a bagful of them from Radio Shack many years ago just for that purpose. You can also get a bit larger size, glue two of them together side-by-side, paint them aluminum and they make a very convincing period electric fuel pump. Keep those updates coming.
  14. You have a pretty good start on what looks like a decent period street rod. Should fit right in with the RoG. Bring on the updates.
  15. Long-time hardcore Sox & Martin fan. This is an outstanding rendition of the hauler, beautiful build all the way around. Roadrunner looks good also.
  16. And what project does not snowball quickly. Don't think I have built a simple project since getting back into the hobby 30 some years ago. As far as the hood scoop, I believe you will be more pleased with the overall project if you strip the scoop completely before attaching it to the hood. I have had issues with paint not allowing my putty sticking properly.

  18. Really enjoyed watching this build come together, and the Towd is a crowning touch. Excellent work converting a "toy" into a believable representation of a motorhome.
  19. Something else about this chart that I found interesting was a large percentage of the states preferred the Ford F-series as most popular vehicle.
  20. I do miss the full color palette of the 50's and 60's. However there are still a few bright colors and fun to drive vehicles on the road. Took a while to get used to the red, but now I really love it, and it is fun to drive - except past gas stations.
  21. These are excellent kits, some of Lindberg's finest work. You have really brought this one to a superb finish. Smooth paint and that interior is beautiful. This kit has one of the better Flatheads in kit form .
  22. That is some excellent paint work and masking skills. Looking forward to more.
  23. Seems as if the Monogram is it, the chrome trees are exactly like the ones I have; only missing a couple of small pieces off the larger one. Thanks for the clarification.
