Mighty fine Jay, really like the concept look.

Looks to be a really nice AWB. Really like the looks of that engine and those wheels/tires are amazing. Bring on some more updates.

Round-2......One of These?
TarheelRick replied to StevenGuthmiller's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
https://i.imgur.com/LFK6cgX.jpg?1 Sure would be nice to find some of these, especially the 58 Ford Convertible and the 58(?) Pontiac. -
Similar incident. While stationed in Thailand I spent several hours in our sound room hobby shop cassette taping music. Had four cases 24 each of BASF (primo at the time) 90 minute tapes. Sent them to my wife. In the meantime she was enjoying the affections of someone else and they recorded over some of them and the others just disappeared. When I got back home I found maybe a dozen tapes. Still have them and many of them still play.

Has this car ever been in kit form?

Thanks for all the options to buy one of these. Need to see if I have a space to put one on the shelf of "to be builts". -

Thanks for the responses. Now, is it still available and where might I find one? -
The AMT 40 Ford Trophy Series was the first kit I ever built back in 1959 and have not built another one. That being said the 40 Ford Coupe is my all-time favorite Ford and I have a couple in my stash. You have done a magnificent job with this build. Your choice of colors and their application are excellent, and they go so well with your choice of interior colors. The stance looks just right for the style of build you chose. Really like this build.

Mine came in yesterday's mail. And as usual a very well put together issue. Plenty of show coverage and tips on building. Thanks!

Looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor. Beautiful build. -
Looks plenty go-fast to me. Very nice job on this build. That color is nice, and a bit tricky to look at.

Definitely a fine piece of artistic work. Its hard to look at a dying Ferrari, but I am sure there are some somewhere. You have captured the feel very nicely. Plenty of details to keep my attention.
-
If you want to give it a try I have a spare grille I would be willing to send to you. Excellent work on that interior, nice choice of color. I'm really impressed with the body work you are doing.
-
That looks like some serious horsepower. Should be an interesting build, looking forward to updates.

I think the others have pretty much said it. Very nice clean custom work, has the 50's era look to it. Really sweet paint job.

I had a table there. Swapmeet went very well, at least on my part. Sold off a bunch of big rig trailers and a couple of airplanes plus a few car models. Made enough to pay the table fee and buy four more models. Will probably go again next year. These are the ones that somehow miraculously ended up my empty sale box and followed me home.

Looking forward to what you do with this build. I have three or four in my stash that are needing some undivided attention. Are you going two-tone or solid color?
-
I tend to do the same thing to forestall final paint.
-
Beautiful build. Decal work is excellent. I had forgotten about this kit. I really need to find one, or at least a front clip so I can modify my Coke Pinto kit to match my 1:1 '80 Pinto.

WHATS GOING ON HERE?
TarheelRick replied to CaddyDaddy's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The house I am living in, my Dad had built in 1963. The 2022 F-150 I am driving now cost me 2.75 times what Dad paid for the house. When I moved into the house back in 2012 I had spent more than 3 times the original price on much needed renovations. Guess if I want to continue living somewhat comfortably I am going to have to give up this retirement and go back to work. ? -
Tilted wheels. Why?
TarheelRick replied to Earl Marischal's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Sure did and the majority of the time the shift linkage would cross-up and I would have to get under the hood with my trusty big screwdriver and fiddle with the linkage to get it unstuck. Was drag-racing (legally) my first '65 Chevelle with 3-on-the-tree, going into second the linkage crossed-up and somehow caused me to break a motor mount. -

They are illegal in North Carolina. One of the few laws our legislature has passed that makes sense. -
Never really been much of a Ferrari fan, but this one is beautiful. Wonderful choice of color, makes those sweet body lines really show their stuff.
