  1. The Maclaren and Porsche were there trying to trade up in performance and appearance.
  2. Interesting concept. I have a box of empty file folders in my basement, would be a good way to put them to use.
  3. And if by chance a bend is not exactly right all you have to do is straighten it as best you can with your hands, then roll it back and forth between two hard surfaces. I use a couple short pieces of 1X4 lumber that I keep close to my workbench.
  4. Beautiful little truck, nice choice of colors. Love the AMT/Lindberg 34 pickup.
  5. Very nice build, smooth body work.
  6. Excellent build of an iconic racecar. Watched your WIP and am impressed with some of the small, almost unnoticeable, details you added. Will be using your WIP as a tutorial when my Chapparal gets on the bench.
  7. Beautiful build, always a big fan of Sox & Martin. Often wondered what made their cars faster than the competition. Now I know, it was the Ford paint.
  8. Very nice build. I am going to presume you are a Bill Elliot fan.
  9. Really like what I am seeing with this build. Big fan of FX and Ford, so when the two come together I am in styrene heaven. In some of the earlier photos the color had a bit of a beige tone, but when you polished it up it brought it back to a nice white. All that BMF must have been exciting.
  10. Is that a kit or did you scratchbuild the frame? Either way, very nice build. BTW, who is the sweetie on the 4-wheeler?
  11. Excellent weathering and beautiful overall build. Really like the one obligatory dent in the fender. This is the kind of truck a hot-rodder cruising the back roads looking for projects would jump on in a flash.
  12. Most excellent build. Your detail additions really make this little scooter come to life. Now I think I may need to go watch "American Graffiti" again.
  13. I live just outside the Triad, about 30 miles west of Winston-Salem. Would really like to get involved in a club, but that kind of travel could get to be bothersome. When I was at the Salisbury swap meet I talked with a member from CKM, and he related their show is on hiatus while they try to find a new venue. Seems the place they have been using for the past several years is getting to be a pain in the posterior.
  14. Mine arrived in NC a couple days ago. Really enjoyed a quick scan, spent all day yesterday on the lake - 4 catfish all over 16" and 10 Bream each one bigger than my hand. Anyway, expect to sit down sometime this afternoon and do a long look through.
  15. Seems this post has been turned into a "I remember when" rather than a build post. Any updates on the build?
  16. Saw these two at a Cruise-in yesterday. The '40 pickup has a SBF for motivation - Ford-n-Ford gotta love it.
  17. Just noticed in the picture of the cockpit there are seatbelts molded in the seat. Not sure I would want to be strapped in if this thing got upside down at 100+ mph. Then again getting ejected would not be a really good alternative either, that water can be like concrete if you hit it wrong.
  18. A bit sluggish earlier, PM sent to Dave. Of course, since I reported it, it is working fine now.
  19. Rats, I was planning on going down there, but had family from out of town visiting. Looks like it was a pretty good show. Have been there a couple times in years past and it has always been impressive. Last time I was there I won a 1/16 scale Jungle Jim kit in the raffle.
  20. Very nice looking C-20, your color choice fits it very well. Where did you source the stepside bed?
  21. Keep those updates coming. I like what you did with the wing actuator. Just for fun, I dug out my kit and it also is missing any semblance of an actuator. Are you going to run the injector stacks as furnished in the kit? I am thinking of maybe replacing them with some stacks from one of the AMT funny car kits. The ones in the kit look rather flimsy for my taste. Anyway, build on.
  22. Very nice looking Mustang, and that color is close to Grabber Blue (IMHO). I like the way you did the interior colors. Looking forward to the "Under Glass" photos.
  23. The only way I can tell this is a diorama rather than a real deal is the lack of tadpoles in the mudholes. Excellent work and very ambitious build, especially in that scale.
