AMT 1955 Chevrolet Cameo

"The song is now stuck in my head", I can't unsee it either. What would be the fix, lowering the front or raising the rear? -
Shelby Cobra Daytona

IMHO this car and the Lola GT are two of the most beautiful automobiles ever built. I am really enjoying watching this kit come together with your skillful touch. A strange thought came to my mind when looking at the suspension pictures: a car with this much sophistication and technology is using a buggy spring suspension. I guess what goes around comes around. -
How do I spray these details?
TarheelRick replied to Milo's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
From those pictures it appears as if the paint may be a bit too thin. Of course there is nothing you can do about that with a spray can except maybe buy another can and see if that makes any difference. As the others have said the best results are achieved with an airbrush. -
Very nice looking MOPAR, I really miss those days of SS racing. Smooth black paint, not really easy to do, but you nailed it.

Very imaginative concept. I really like the suicide doors, hood, & trunk lid. I have been trying to figure a way to hinge the hood on my 57 300C custom, and you have effectively solved that problem for me - thanks.

Identification request

Have a good friend who built a 65 Mustang fastback from parts - two different bodies, etc. His daughter was 14 and began talking to him about letting her have the Mustang when she turned 16. I asked him if he would. His reply, " He** no, I am going to get her something that will protect her, a late model Mustang." This guy is a mechanic with the NCDOT and is pretty proficient with cars. -

Guess those truck brakes worked better than expected. -
Excellent build, plenty of details to keep the eyes searching. Even down to the "Nixon Now" bumper-sticker on the phone booth, and all in 1/43 scale.

Ford H series, very old build.

Good looking tractor, looks like she could still drag a Fruehauf down the road. Very clean build. -
Really nice looking Deuce, I like the fuel logs for the injectors.

Super looking old war horse. You can tell she has run a few laps. Very nice work on the mud details and the overall build. -
Do I build it?
TarheelRick replied to junkyardjeff's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
If it is molded in black it is very possibly an original issue. The first kit I got in 1959 was a 40 Coupe and it was molded in black. Don't know when they changed the color of the styrene to blue, brown, orange or whatever other color has been used. My suggestion is give it a good cleaning, drop in the Caddy and a couple cased of jars in the trunk. That is a nice looking body to work with. -
Now that makes sense, probably represents the factory headliner.

Outstanding Firebird. At first I thought is was supposed to be a beater with faded paint, then I realized the "fade" was actually reflections of the trees in that beautiful paint work. Great job.

I am just sitting here in front of my computer babbling to myself. Your work is simply amazing. The transformation of that stock metal top to a convertible top is beyond my simple understanding. One question: in the picture where you are showing the inside structure it appears there are stitching seams across the top - how did you do that?

They are a WHOLE LOT more fun in real life. Nothing beats four speeds and open headers.

Beautiful work, looks like it just rolled off the dealership floor. Very nice paint work. -
That is some mighty fine work, great attention to detail.

Enjoying watching this one come together. If I remember correctly my uncle's '41 had a floor mounted starter button. To crank it you put the key in the ignition, then mashed the starter button to fire it up. The button was off to the left of the gas pedal and behind the gear stick. Anyway, really like the detail you are putting into this one.
