  1. Very nice build, I think the '62 Buicks were one of the finest looking GM cars of the 60's!
  2. Thanks for the kind words everyone! I wanted to use the steel wheels, but with the black top and gold color, I felt it looked best with the Magnums.
  3. It's looking great Marcos! I can't wait to see the top painted and foil on! Please post those pics when you find the time!
  4. Very well done!
  5. Very nice custom, the new roofline looks like it belongs, I like the fact that you kept the side trim, I always liked that about these early 60's Fords!
  6. Very cool, I love '61 Fords! I did't know Hubley ever made plastic kits, all I remember is metal kits from them. This wagons proportions look perfect, any idea of anything else they did in plastic?
  7. I made the sidemarker lights by slicing off some .080 Evergreen styrene rod, sanded them flat and as thin as possible, drilled out the center without going all the way through the piece, painted them chrome silver then foiled over them [ kind of hard to foil small pieces like this, the chrome silver hides small voids] then added stoplight red and amber paint to the centers. I made about 6 or 7 pieces, then used the best looking 4. Then just glue them to the body with your favorite glue.
  8. Actually, you and I are both wrong. The engine color for a '68 440 should be more of a turquoise blue, the '69 440's were painted orange. I just left it alone after the fact though.
  9. Just finished this one up today, hope you like it! Thanks for looking!
  10. Thanks for the input everyone! I've made my mind up, should be finished in a few days as time permits. Watch for the result in "Under Glass"!
  11. I'm almost done with this build, making a decision on the wheel treatment, so here are some pics with the Magnum 500's , steel with dog dishes, and mags with slicks thrown in just for fun! Voice your opinions, in the end it will be what I want, see if you can influence me one way or the other! I think we all know what lizardlust wants! Thanks for looking!
  12. Make sure the dash is setting down all the way in the slots on the interior side panels. I had to pop mine back out because the passenger side of the dash was up to high and hitting the corner of the windshield. I had to trim the part of the dash that slides down into the door panel, never had that problem on the '69 I built. The radiator support assembly needs to be slipped into place before you bond the chassis and body together also, the fan shroud was placed over the fan and glued on after the radiator support was in place. The best thing you can do is keep test fitting and looking for places you might have interference. As far as the wheels, I'm still undecided.
  13. Added completed engine bay pics. Thanks for looking!
  14. Dash, chassis details look great! I see some top-notch work here! Looking forward to more on your build!
  15. I got the body and chassis joined this weekend, I always take my time on this step as I want the body to sit square on the chassis. Thanks for looking, questions or comments always welcome.
  16. When ever I do my factory stock builds, I like to "undercoat" the wheel wells. This is how I do a Mopar B-body. I paint the entire wheel well, and dry brush on the sub frame rail to look like over spray When I paint the front, I leave the shock towers body color, and paint the sides of the front sub frame. Progress as of today, thanks for looking!
  17. The stripes are on the decal sheet, you have a choice of black, white or red. Your grandpa has a very cool Coronet!
  18. Rob, here's the difference in 1/25th scale. The top photo is the Dana rear in the Revell 69 Charger kit, the gears are loaded in the back behind a cover, bottom photo is the Chrysler 8 3/4 rear, carrier bolts to the front of the rearend like a Ford 9".
  19. I found a decent sheet of BMF, so I got the foiling finished, Thanks for looking, questions or comments always welcome
  20. Just completed the interior today, seats and door panels painted with Krylon semi gloss black, carpet, dash top and rear shelf painted Testors flat black, dash and console painted with Tamiya semi gloss black. Black is tough to do, so I tried to use paints with different sheens. Thanks for looking.
  21. Thanks Marcos! And good luck with yours, do post progress when you can! Judging from your past builds, I'm sure yours will be drop dead gorgeous!
  22. Very nice and well detailed, just like your '66 Nova and Camaro! We all have our favorite colors, I tend to paint everything blue!
  23. diymirage, any reputable hobby shop should carry Evergreen or Plastruct styrene, it comes in strips, half round, rods and sheets in various sizes.
  24. Yes Bill, I agree with you about the Hemi, all that's missing is the correct aircleaner and stock exhaust headers. They even have the HEMI badge decal included on the decal sheet that goes on the doors. The kit has the Dana 60 axle that would be behind a Hemi, My thoughts are that a 440 would have a Mopar 8 3/4 rear. The only thing you would have to add is the torque boxes for the rear leaf spring mounts. I have 3 of these kits, I'm going to probably grab more when run across them!
  25. Here's the completed 440, ignition wiring and hoses added. Thanks for looking.
