  1. Oh, non-functioning AC in a heatwave is much better than a non-functioning furnace in a coldsnap!
  2. So unusually hot weather here in Canada over the past week. Has been hovering around 40 degrees C all week, so 10 degrees warmer that usual. Wednesday night, the fan in our furnace decided to pack it in. SO no more pumping the AC through the house, or even giving us a slight breeze from the vents. Luckily, our HVAC guy is awesome. Came over yesterday (on Canada Day) to diagnose the issue. Everything closed yesterday, so he was picking up the new blower motor this monring and repairing this morning. Our thermostat was reading 33 degrees C indoors yesterday afternoon. Ugh. Anyway, HVAC guy has already texted me and he has the new part and is on his way to repair it now. Haven't been able to get any bench time in over the past week, as the garage is too hot to be comfortable. Maybe this weekend, And there's rain in the forecast for Sunday and the temps are supposed to be back to normal.
  3. I'll be giving it a try later today.
  4. Oh mine isn't totally accurate at all! But it's close enough for me.
  5. It's coming along. Nowhere near finished though. This set up is my entry for the 2021 BRBO.
  6. lolz. Just noticed this thread is like 10 years old.
  7. Looks like we're all thinking alike. I too have modified my container trailer. Moved the wheels back and closed up the space between, to create a reasonable facsimile of an North American container trailer. And mine is behind a Volvo VN as well.
  8. That is awesome. The world needs more wagons!
  9. Paint looks great! And you correctly did the wheels with two different finishes. Nice detail!
  10. Is that third pic a Lancer? Whatever it is, that's the only car you posted that I'm not digging. I even kind of like that blue Golf with the goofy wheel fitment.
  11. Pics of the Olympic and Brittanic should be able to assist with a lot of the details. I think. I don't know a lot about boats. Although, now that I've inherited my dad's stash of boat and aircraft models, I may try one. Which will require some research on my part.
  12. My preference in a car is manual transmission. It's not that I don't appreciate the flappy paddle shifters, but I find three pedals far more enjoyable to drive than an automatic or the paddle shift cars. I guess technically, the same thing applies in the gas vs electric debate. Yes, the electric is faster, but how does it make one feel? I still prefer gas engines over electrics, but this is the direction the auto world is going, and sooner or later everyone here will be driving electrics and arguing about which battery pack is better.
  13. Maybe he did. I would suspect most celebrities would not be announcing themselves when interacting with us common people. I know on a couple of guitar forums I'm on, there are some well known celebrity members. And when those famous members post, no one responds on topic. It just instantly devolves into people praising the guy and explaining their life time love of their work. And of course, the odd troll that tells him he sucks. I would say it's entirely possible this forum, or other forums could have celebrity members.
  14. Parts finally arrived, so got the AC working in my old Tahoe. Good timing too. Will be over 30 degrees C all weekend, and over 35 degrees C for most of next week.
  15. That looks excellent! Wouldn't change a thing.
  16. Disappointed there's no Red Barchetta. However, check this collection out. https://www.goodingco.com/press/article/legendary-rush-drummer-neil-peart-estate-car-collection-to-be-presented-at Time to take the bottles in to the recycling depot. Looks like I'll need a couple of extra bucks!
  17. I have been hunting high and low for one of the Revell Corrado kits! And on the odd occasion they do appear on EBay or whatever, they are ridiculously expensive. One day, I'll find one. Or they'll reissue it.
  18. I'm a huge fan of the malaise-era cars. The 80s and 90s are my jam. Although I am not the biggest fan of the first gen Scirocco, I would absolutely LOVE to see a second gen Scirocco kit produced.
  19. You're right, those wheels are much too small. Too bad, because the printing looks perfect. I'm sure you'll find another kit those will work just fine on. Liking what I'm seeing so far.
  20. I don't watch much tv, but I do have some definite favourites. 1. The X-Files 2. Battlestar Galactica (the four season run from 2004) 3. The IT Crowd 4. Car SOS Couldn't really nail down a fifth. There's a few things I watch, but not sure I'd call them favourites.
  21. Very, VERY cool. This whole world of 3D printing is definitely something I want to experiment with. Watching this one closely!
  22. Your conversion is going great so far! Reading the last few posts about your grille made me think about how 3D printing will simplify a process like this. The tech is getting less expensive all the time, programs are getting easier and easier to use, and there are more files to utilize every day. Yes, there are those who will talk about the satisfaction of scratchbuilding the parts by hand, and there will always be a place for that. But for many others, 3D will be the way to go. Anyway, I dig it, and the grille is coming along nicely.
  23. Well, went down the rabbit hole and googled the wreck this morning. Read a few articles. Looks like it was discovered in 2018. Wonder how different things look now; if anyone has done any salvage work at all. Doesn't sound like it.
  24. Pretty universal one today. People who complain and criticize, but then offer no solutions to fix the problem. That's great if someone has a legitimate problem / complaint. But when you make it, throw a solution out there, give some ideas on how to help fix the problem. Turns a complaint into a discussion, helps get things figured out a lot faster. I deal with this at work a lot, most recently, about 20 minutes ago. Joys of being the boss I guess.
