  1. Looks like he has some interesting stuff. Looks well cast, and the pricing looks fair too.
  2. I don't understand the entire NFT phenomenon.
  3. I loved that show growing up. And now being in the auto industry, we've had a couple of years where we of course had to dress up like "sales people" for Halloween. And of course, Herb was the inspiration.
  4. On a related note, how exactly does health / dental work in the US? Get the work done, get an invoice? Like yourself, genuinely curious.
  5. Dental coverage by employers and through our health insurance providers is typically pretty good. Almost all procedures have at least 80-90% coverage. Orthodontics or cosmetic dentistry, such as braces are not covered, so those are out of pocket. Each of my kids needed braces, to the tune of $8k CDN each! A couple of years ago, I had some receding gums on one side. The surgery for that totaled around $3800, but I only had out of pocket of less than $200. I had a routine appointment about a month ago for a routine checkup and cleaning, and there was no charge. Had a follow up with an orthodontist for some work I'm thinking about, and there was no cost. If I choose to move forward though, it could get pricey. I've always had healthy teeth, but they're not straight at all. It's always bugged me, so now I'm thinking about doing something about it. Purely cosmetic, so no insurance coverage. The coverages also extend to immediate family, so my wife and both kids receive the exact same coverage I do. Different employers use different insurance providers though ,and they're all a little different in terms of coverages offered. Employers can also decide how much they want covered. This in turn affects the insurance premiums we have deducted from our pay. So here in Canada, our health coverage isn't exactly free, but I'm happy with how it works out. Especially considering I had some major surgery, a week-long hospital stay, and 8 weeks of short term disability last year. Can't imagine what that would have cost. ENT surgeon, neuro-surgeon, anesthesiologist, 5 nights in a private hospital room, pre-surgery and post-surgery MRIs, etc.
  6. Was in Jasper yesterday visiting a client, and parked near this beauty. I have loved these for a long, long time. It's not my first choice in colour, but I wouldn't turn it down. Too bad someone parked that McLaren 720S in the way!
  7. Awesome project! I've always wanted one fo these kits. Mainly because one of my fav Matchbox cars from back in the day was a Fiat rally car. White with red & orange stripes. Want to build a replica. As an aside, I have the same mug. Well, same picture, different name. Pretty sure it came back on one of our many trips to England.
  8. I think that is the most realistic concrete and asphalt I've seen. Excellent work!
  9. I've used Hobbylinc a few times, and have never had an issue. Pricing is good, product was in stock, shipping was fairly priced (to Canada) and quick. Would order again. Have used Hobby Link Japan way more often, and they're even easier to work with, and surprisingly ship faster to Canada than any US company I've ordered from.
  10. I'm enjoying this one so far. Thanks for explaining some of the techniques!
  11. I'm with you. This is one of the worst kits I've encountered. Nothing fit right. I got about 3/4 done, then put it in a box out of frustration. That was about 4 years ago. I'm sure I'll finish at some point. Despite my issues, there have definitely been some nice builds of those truck posted here. Looking forward to seeing what you make of it.
  12. I like it! Question for you. Why cover the logo on the rear panels?
  13. I knew we had some old guys here, but wow! lolz Looks like he hasn't logged in since July 2009, so I'm guessing he won't see our well wishes! Ah well.
  14. A lot of features, a hybrid engine, and a starting price of $26k CDN. Ideal for people that want a car with a big trunk. Or as Ford states, "the vehicle for customers who didn't know they needed a truck." I think Ford will sell a lot of these. And of course there's the new Hyundai Santa Cruz pickup. Same target market. Watch for others to introduce some competition over the next few years.
  15. Interesting. Got this from Ford Fleet this morning.
  16. I mean the actual car. It obviously meant a lot to the guy; so much so that his family chose to memorialize it. Does the family still have the car all these years later? Did they sell it? Store it? Restore it? Is it driven?
  17. Ha! Actually, with the amount of electronic assisted do-dads on my truck, I would be kind of shocked to find a manual bottle opener. Even the gas cap is electric. The tailgate is power up and down. So much to go wrong. I feel sorry for the person who buys one of these off of warranty.
  18. I'm still trying to figure out why this tiny truck comes with a bottle opener, and my new F150 didn't.
  19. Not a bad looking truck. Still too small for my needs, but I think it'll do well.
  20. I have no hesitations or apprehensions about visiting the dentist. My dentist and her hygienists are great. It's just uncomfortable there. I'm 6'6" and those chairs just don't fit right. I find my right arm always falls asleep about 10 minutes in to anything I'm having done. Anything major (like having wisdom teeth removed) and I've been knocked out, so that's even better! No apprehension with the wallet either. Work health plan covers just about everything. Except for braces. And of course, both kids needed them!
  21. As an aside, the OP pic is a rendering, not the actual truck. Official launch is tomorrow. The Maverick is a small truck, shares some of its underpinnings with the new Bronco Sport. Will be more of a competitor for the Honda Ridgeline. Like the RIdgeline, it's unibody, 4 cylinder, AWD or FWD. And it's perfect for what most people who think they need a truck actually need. It's a car with a big trunk. Perfect for tossing some bikes in the back, or a quick run to Home Depot, or maybe towing a small tent trailer. It's not designed to be a "real" truck, and that's not the target audience for this thing. People need to stop comparing it to half tons trucks, let alone the 1/4 ton trucks like the Colorado. That's like comparing a Civic to a Charger. Not the same market. It's not for me, but I think they'll do well with it. And it will pave the way for other small trucks. And it looks like a truck.
  22. On a somewhat related note, I think the hybrid option is currently the better option for most of North America. As has been said, distances between major cities and towns is far greater than in Europe or elsewhere in the world. This means much larger need for charging stations. And of course upgrading the power grid to handle it. My current truck is one of the new F150 PowerBoost hybrids. I've put about 4000km on it so far. When I fill up, my range shows around 900km per tank. And of that, just under 200km of that is in pure electric mode. Overall fuel economy is showing at 11.2L/100km. So it's an improvement over my previous gas engine trucks.
  23. Those both look excellent. Love obscure and different kits like that Nissan.
