  1. Uh oh. Looks like I'm going to need to send A&N some more money.
  2. That gold Caprice woody wagon is checking my boxes.
  3. Colour choices are perfect, and the finished paint is fantastic. VERY nice.
  4. Yup! Still an air-cooled flat 4. But with a touch of extra power added!
  5. So the local chapter of the Porsche Club of America is known as the Polar Region. For the past 20 years or so, the annual show has been know as the Polar Concours. Been going every year since 2001, when I started working for Porsche. Not as many familiar faces these days, but I still know some of these cars. 2014 Porsche Boxster 550 Spyder Edition - I sold this car new. Probably the nicest spec Boxster you could get at the time. All the right options, the right colours, just perfect. This thing is kind of ugly right now, with questionable wheel fitment, but a very cool story. And a very cool car. 2003 Porsche 996 Carrera - Super rare Lago Green Metallic, factory Carrera rear spoiler, also rare. Factory short shift and sport suspension. I ordered this car new and it was our demo 911 for a while. We had a set of race tires for this one and used to autocross it quite a bit. I wonder if the current owner knows how the car spent its first few thousand km? Look at this colour. Drool. Boxster Spyder in Miami Blue. Special ordered Carrera GTS in Maritime Blue.
  6. Hit up a show today. Pretty mixed bag of stuff there! This car bugged me. 1967 Fury III. Nicely done paint, nicely refinished interior, built engine. But the front and rear bumpers and front grille were coating in textured bedliner. And the wheel choice...not my taste. 1961 NSU Prinz
  7. I love this car. The only issue I have, is that I guarantee it would not fit my 6'6" frame. And I guess that with only 62 being built, I'll already be too late to buy. Oh, and that pesky $$$ thing.
  8. I didn't get a chance to talk to him, but that Mini is definitely NOT stock. That engine note is very un-Mini. If he's at the next event, I'm going to corner him and discuss.
  9. Excellent resource! Along a similar line, Canepa Motorsport also have an excellent picture library for their currently available cars. Easily downloadable in a zip fil of usually around 100 high res pics. https://canepa.com/inventory/
  10. First Euro Cars and Coffee since public gathering restrictions were fully lifted. Not a huge turnout, but still some pretty awesome stuff here. This Vantage is the one I would have chosen. Oxblood leather, manual transmission. Awesome. Wifey made her choice.
  11. No kidding! I think this kit would sell really well if they re-issued it.
  12. I've been checking my local LHS and online, and have yet to find them anywhere.
  13. Of course it's unsafe here! Have you seen the reactions when someone posts that they plan to build and modify a vintage kit? Or that someone has acquired a kit collection and isn't going to sell it online? Danger Zone! ?
  14. I wish our subdivision had something similar. The closest we get is a page on Facebook for our entire town. Basically, somewhere for people to complain about the following: In summer, why is there so much road construction? In winter, why isn't the town fixing the roads? the trains are blocking the road again. Our town is bisected by a CN rail line, sometimes, there are slow moving trains. kids smoking weed near the skatepark. the neighbours keep putting the dog crap bags in my garbage cans where can i get my car fixed for cheap? Anyway... It drives me nuts when I take our pup to the lake, and there's dog crap on the trails. So many bad dog owners. In a close second (#2 if you will) are the horse people. One of the local lakes we frequent is also popular with horse people. If us dog people are expected to pick up the poop, the horse people should as well.
  15. Yeah, their long time bass tech played a show last weekend, and the footage I saw sounded really good. Will see. I hope they continue the tour. Would be tough though, having played together for almost 50 years and suddenly losing one of the three. For those who have Netflix, you need to go watch the ZZ Top documentry, "That Little Old Band From Texas." It is fantastic.
  16. I have tickets for their show this coming April. Will be interesting to see if they continue. What the heck is going on this week with musicians? On Monday, Mike Howe from Metal Church passes. One of my all time favourite vocalists. On Tuesday, Joey Jordison, drummer for Slipknot passes at 46. Absolute monster talent on the drums. And now Dusty.
  17. Looks great! I've been checking locally for this one. Can't wait to find it.
  18. You know...I long for the days of low res cameras. These new cameras just seem to magnify things the naked eye misses. Anyway... This is Fujimi's Porsche 964 RSR kit. I avoided some of the RSR parts and did my own version of the 3.8 RS. Tamiya's TS35 Park Green does a decent job of replicating Porsche's Viper Green. Tamiya white primer, the Park Green, and Tamiya clearcoat. The interior is a semi-gloss black I had. I think it's a Duplicolor paint. The carpets are embossing powder. First time I've used that (I normally use flocking) and I like the results. I added some seatbelts too. Overall, a simple kit, looks good on the shelf. Just don't use a good camera to view it.
  19. The kit is a 1/24 and includes the Corvette engine and rear end. Here's another thread where I posted pics of the kit.
  20. Holy moly. That is stunning. It gets said a lot around here, but with natural lighting, that would be virtually indistinguishable from the real thing.
