What did you see on the road today?
iamsuperdan replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Yeah, sometimes! We specialize in commercial vehicles, but lately we've been getting a lot of decidedly non-commercial things rolling through. There's another rolling in within the hour. Should be fun. -

Got to play with this today. 2017 Maserati Levante S. We just repo'd it. Leased it out two years ago. The client went and put tacky limo tint on it, then parked it. And literally fled the country. The CFO and VP at his company have been unable to reach him for the past 6 months. Over the past few months, the company accounts have been drained. Money goes out faster than it goes in. All through the owner's cards. They lawyered up, and were told they could shut down the company. So they did. Theis two year old vehicle now has only 440km on it. And two brand new batteries. -
Really?? $6,000?? For a Tamiya 934

I wonder if this is one of those kits where actually building it would kill the value. I mean, once painted and built, there's no way to differentiate it from the standard kit. I think it's excessive, but to a collector? maybe worth it? -
My least favourite of all the Batmobiles, too cartoon-y for my tastes. But your work is outstanding. Definitely looking like the best build of this kit I've seen.

Do Jeeps count as Mopar? I've had a few of those. 1990 YJ Islander, 1993 XJ Sport, 2005 TJ SPort, 2008 JK Sahara, 2015 JKU Sahara. This is the 2015. I miss it. Want another one. Only one true Mopar has been in my garage though. I kinda miss it. As for overall fav Mopar? Charger Daytona. Hands down the only muscle car I've ever truly been excited about. I like most cars from that era, but this is the one that gets me fired up. And how could a favourite mopar be anything but Christine? Just don't talk bad about her.

Galaxie trailer. Has anyone biult one?
iamsuperdan replied to 426 pack's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I built the 21ft trailer and have the 38ft in the stash. Can track down pics for you, or take new ones. I believe interior height is the same on both. WIll figure it out. -
I have this on the bench. Well...next to the bench. Started it, but discovered a warped body. Been thinking about how to fix it and haven't done much. Plus, I haven't been able to find a yellow that matches the "Post It Note" yellow available on the 850R. I know this isn't an R, but I wanted to somewhat replicate it. Great colour choice on yours!

Some great stuff there! Been looking for the Jager Alfa myself. We need some shows like this around here. Actually, we just need shows of any kind around here. Finding used kits is a major challenge. -
All these dad jokes in one place. It's a dadabase.

Mellow at the bench last night. -
Excellent build! And the outdoor lighting is perfect.

Did this one have the swivel seats? Always thought that was a cool option! -

Around here, Jeep dealers have a license to print money. It's called the Wrangler. One of the most common SUVs on the road around here. Even my company runs them in our rental division, and although we specialize in commercial leasing, we roll a couple every month. Have already done two Gladiators, and they've only been on ground 2 or 3 weeks. And you guys are right. most will never see anything harsher than a gravel road, and most will only ever use 4wd if it's snowing. Even the ones that get lifted and have "offroad" accessories added. I've actually owned five Jeeps over the years, four of them being Wranglers. A 2015 JK Sahara Unlimited, a 2008 JK Sahara, 2005 TJ Sport, 1990 YJ Islander. And a 1993 XJ Sport for good measure. Love Jeeps, love the utility and the ability, love being able to go topless. Love that the aftermarket is plentiful and inexpensive. And for good measure, found this at a show... -
Love the Joe Dirt Daytona!

My friend couldn't afford to pay his water bill. So I sent him a “get well soon” card. A friend of mine tries to impress girls by drawing realistic paintings of Chevy trucks. He’s a pickup artist. How Long is a Chinese name. Why did the Mexican take some Xanax? For Hispanic attacks. What did mozart do after 1791? Decompose A frog walked into a bank... ... and approaches the teller. He can see from her nameplate that her name is Patty Whack. "Miss Whack, I'd like to get a $30,000 loan to take a holiday." Patty looks at the frog in disbelief and asks his name. The frog says his name is Kermit Jagger, his dad is Mick Jagger, and that it's okay, he knows the bank manager. Patty explains that he will need to secure the loan with some collateral. The frog says, "Sure. I have this," and produces a tiny porcelain elephant, about an inch tall, bright pink and perfectly formed. Very confused, Patty explains that she'll have to consult with the bank manager and disappears into a back office. She finds the manager and says, "There's a frog called Kermit Jagger out there who claims to know you and wants to borrow $30,000, and he wants to use this as collateral." She holds up the tiny pink elephant. "I mean, what in the world is this?" The bank manager looks back at her and says, "It's a knickknack, Patty Whack. Give the frog a loan. His old man's a Rolling Stone".

I've never understood jokes about school shootings. I guess they're aimed at a younger audience.

Love the subject matter, but would want a fix for those puffy tires. They look far too big for the rest of the car.

Went out yesterday and picked up the most talked about truck in decades. 2020 Jeep Gladiator. This one is a Sport model with a few bells and whistles. Drives and feels exactly like a Wrangler, which means it's pretty dang great. I want one. Rubicon model with a manual trans please! -
Watching for sure!

I know exactly what you're talking about. I picked this one up, then realized it was a reissue of a snap kit. Still, assembly is going well, and it doesn't look like a snap. Mind you, I'm doing a lot of customizing on this one. Looking forward to seeing your progress! -
I'm not sure why this car leaves me so underwhelmed. I should like it. I've always liked AMC product, especially the Javelins. Huge power, the right upgrades to make the car handle...I don't know. I know I don't like the revised wheelbase. Maybe the combined sum of the parts is just a little much for me. Totally respect the build though.
