New ferraris
iamsuperdan replied to Brudda's topic in 1:1 Reference Photos: Auto Shows, Personal vehicles (Cars and Trucks)
Remember when Ferrari made attractive cars? All of these new Ferraris just leave me feeling flat. I'm sure they're amazing to drive, but part of the appeal of a Ferrari was that it was a sexy beast to look at. And it's gettingt worse. Just look at the brand new Testarossa. -
Well that escalated quickly. ð

Anything political gets deleted, no matter what side of the fence the posts are about. That's always been our policy.

Nope! These newer Revell kits are brand new tools, not based on any previous kit. They have their flaws, but they're really good. Available in coupe, targa, and cabriolet variants.

Out of curiosity, I just looked into this. I just checked the first three pages of the sub-forums, looking for anything related to emergency vehicles. Here's what I found. Works in progress: Model cars - 1 Trucks, SUV, light commercial - 2 Big Rigs - 2 Under Glass: Model cars - 1 Trucks, SUV, light commercial - 2 Big Rigs - 2 That number roughly doubles if we include tow trucks. And some of those threads were started many, many months ago, in one case a thread is a couple of years old. It only moves forward if somone comments. Personally, I don't think that's enough activity to justify a seperate forum. But we will be discussing this and all the other sub-forum division ideas in our next Zoom meeting. After getting into some of the higher level and backstage issues, we're almost ready to start getting into the nitty gritty of these ideas, the ones that people will actually notice. I'm not picking on you or the idea. Like we've said, we want to hear all of your ideas, and we're considering and discussing all of the suggestions. This is just one example that shows some of the things we look at. We could deep dive some of these ideas and get into things like the number of threads, thread start date, number of posts within each thread, number of participants in each thread, etc. There will be at least one additional sub-forum added. Plus, some clarification and renaming in some sub-forums.

Model Car t shirts????
iamsuperdan replied to Tom Kren's topic in Model Cars Magazine News and Discussions
Actually, merch is on the radar, and because of sites like Printify, we can offer merch and not worry about stocking it or shipping it. So, I can say without a doubt, there WILL be merch available at some point. However, I can also say (as I said before) that merch is pretty low on the priority chart. Be patient, and all will be revealed in time. -
Tamiya land cruiser 80
iamsuperdan replied to kacitgirl's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
The one I build many years ago was two-tone grey and silver. The more recent one is a matte sand colour, and I blacked out all of the chrome. I like the dark grey. -
If people can't wrap their heads around how a Charlie Kirk thread could get political... As for the 911 thread, out of 8 seperate posts, 6 had nothing to do with 911, and were drifting towards religious/political debate. Sometimes it's just easier to eliminate a thread before it devolves and people start getting angry with other, and thus before it starts getting reported.

This is such a nice kit. I've built two of them over the years. -
Saleen Body Kits...
iamsuperdan replied to Musclecarbuilder's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Spoiler and wheels appear top be available. Haven't seen the rest of the body kit though. https://cults3d.com/en/search?q=saleen -
Interesting. The smash molding of the windows is similar to the vacuum molding process. That's how I make my windows for 3d prints. Same basic concept. Heat the material, press it down on a mold, let it cool. I like your end result. ð

I would totally drive that. Much nicer than most of the other tuner vehicles I see.

Spiders?! Nope. I would have burned it to the ground right then and there! Seriously though, I hate spiders. I would have kept on disassembling that interior. All the side panels and the headliner...out. And at that point, would probably pull the dash too. Might as well clean it all and start fresh! I'm surprised your hatch struts still worked!

I like it! Sonny Crockett would approve.

I used to have a PS2, played GTA Vice City a lot. Was really good at it too. My son was big into video games. Still is from time to time. Him and his friends have phases. Anyway, we ended up with a Wii, and a then cycled through a few versions of the XBox. The last game I spent any real time on was Minecraft, like 10 years ago. And Red Dead Redemption 2. That one was pretty good.

Don't hold your breath. Doesn't look like Tamiya is doing anything to address the situation, and now it appears that Mr Hobby is in the same boat. Although my local suppliers here in Edmonton are still carrying Mr Hobby, the shelves are pretty empty. The Revell paints are on shelves now though, so I grabbed a couple just to try them. Most of my painting will now be done with an airbrush though. I had been contemplating it for quote a while, but the Tamiya ban kind of tipped me over the edge. And now I'm hooked. Will not go back to spray cans. At least on bodies anyway.

Most likely, yes. We'll be able to make a lot of the changes and improvements "backstage" so to speak, and we'll be able to test them ourselves, and make sure we can't break anything. But yes, the switchover will mean that the site is down for a bit. Totally unknown exactly how long that would be, but we will be giving people plenty of notice. I don't think it will be measured in days, but I could be wrong.

Kind of what I expected. but only because I saw this... This is Bernth. He's a monster guitar player. And he did a couple of underwater things. Science! It's great.

Not a bad idea. Might be a better idea to see if we can get Hobby Lobby to advertise here. Yup, selling ad space. It's on our list of wants/needs.

I love Rammstein. And anything industrial and heavy. Lately I've been listening to a lot of Fear Factory. And also a somewhat newer band called Orbit Culture. And saw Ministry here in town a couple of months ago.

Odds & Ends you'd Like to See

Which part? The part where I stated files were available for download? Or the part where his print files were high quality? I'm not speaking to the accuracy of the files for this item.
