As I'm reading your description, one YouTuber comes immediately to mind. Looking at a sprue like it's some mystical enigma, and misidentifying very obvious parts. Looks at a seat, says it appears to be a rear spoiler. I like the builders that don't speak at all. Just shows what's there, and then builds it.

Excellent resource! And I see a number of vehicles I'd like in my garage. On a similar note, check out www.bringatrailer.com . Every vehicle listed, and every vehicle you search for will have literally hundreds of photos taken of it. Every detail one could possibly want.

We had a hobby store here called Hobby Alley. Their main focus was RC. But they had an awesome selection of kits and supplies. I shopped there a lot. I went in during their closing out sale and was speaking with the owner. His problem was that people would go in and ask all kinds of questions about RC. What's good, what's bad, what should I modify, etc. Then they would go and purchase online. Then those same people would come in with their online purchases and ask for tech support. He started charging diagnostic and repair fees for those people. They complained of course. Ugh. We still have a couple of stores that don't appear to be going anywhere. Literally two stores. In a city of around 1.3 million. And I'll keep doing my part to support them.

https://ammonyc.com/products/ammo-dygest-pet-stain-remover And I would recommend a steamer. They're on Amazon, not too expensive at all. And a set of drill brushes. These are brushes about 3-4" diameter that fit on any drill. Will do great for scrubbing fabrics. I'd also remove everything first. Completely disassemble, because you never know what's hiding behind door panels or side panels or under the backseat, etc. Carpets out for sure. And keep everything wet. A misting of water or cleaner before starting will keep the dust and mold spores from becomingt airborne. And get a respirator, safety glasses, latex gloves, and those white Tyvek coveralls. Stay protected!

Took the truck to Penticton, BC for a few days. Did some business, then met up with a friend and did a few trails. They hang glide from this spot. Then we ventured up to the caves of the old gold mines in the area. Took it offroad, then came into town, loaded 5 people into into and went to the Serendipity Winery for a fancy dinner.

Except that Les Paul didn't invent the electric guitar. Rickenbacker did it first. RIckenbacker had an electric guitar on the market in the 1930s, where GIbson didn't do it until the 1950s. In fact, Gibson didn't care about electric until after Fender started doing it in the 1940s, and they saw how successful it was becoming. Les Paul did help Gibson design and produce their first electric model. Les Paul was a prolific inventor, and definitely came up with some groundbreaking things, but he did not invent the elctric guitar.

Mopar Guys you have finally got your wish
iamsuperdan replied to Mike 1017's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Jeep guys have been begging for th3 4.0L I6 to go back in the Wrangler since it was discontinued back in 2006! And the new I6 engines are pretty awesome in the Ram 1500s. Lots of power, great acceleration, plenty of towing ability, decent economy. I think it'll be a great option for the Charger. But most of the Mopar fanboys won't give it a chance because it only has 6 cylinders. I'll bet the Hellcat makes it's way into the new Charger for 2027. I mean, Ram have already announced that the normal 2026 Ram 1500 is getting the Hemi in a limited capacity, and that the TRX is most likely coming back. Leave it to the Ram fans. Excited about the return of the 5.7L Hemi V8 that happens to be slower than the I6, has less towing than the I6, worse economy that the I6. Is worse in every measurable categroy than the I6. But I guess it sounds better. And you do get that new fender badge. -
So holy cow. I bought this on eBay on Sunday. Half the price of what these normally sell for. It arrived here yesterday. Purchase, shipping, arrival. China to Canada. Basically 5 days. Complete and unstarted. The body's windshield pillar is a little bent. And it's strange because the two Volvo 850 Turbo wagon kits I have both have the same bent windshield. Same side too. I figure, once I get the glass in place, they'll straighten out and be just fine. The plastic isn't stretched or miscoloured, so should be good. Decals are slightly yellowed, so I've alreayd ordered the replacement setby SK Decals from SpotModel. Should be here next week. Super excited to start this one.

Small mopar show
iamsuperdan replied to mk11's topic in 1:1 Reference Photos: Auto Shows, Personal vehicles (Cars and Trucks)
That red 80s Cordoba is awesome. Where was this show? And mike, as an FYI, couple of big shows up here on Saturday. Londonderry Mall in north Edmonton has a big annual show. And 30 min west of Edmonton, in a village called Alberta Beach. Big annual show on Saturday as well. -
Yesterday evening, I found one of my grail kits on EBay for a price way less than it normally is. Shipping says it should be here in a week or two. I'm stoked. Will post pics upon arrival.

Hanta virus and mold! Wear a respirator and one of those white tyvek coveralls for sure. And latex gloves. Sounds like overkill, but no car is worth risking your health over.

What did you see on the road today?
iamsuperdan replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I do believe you spied a Noble M400. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noble_M400 -
It may look terrible, but being amongst the trees could actually be a good thing. The shade from the trees and the sap/leaves/whatever covering the paint could very well have protected it from the sun and other elements. Once you clean it and decontaminate it, that original paint could very well polish back to showroom shine. Obviously that front fender needs some work, but if you're lucky you won't need to do much other paintwork.

I like it! -
Something like this? https://rayskits.com/product/1969chevroletcamaroz28/ Ray's decals are amazing, but as Trevor mentioned, depending on the production schedule, you could be waiting a few months for them to arrive. According to the site, the next print run will be late October 2025. They are worth the wait though!

You're right, that is most definitely a project! BUT I can definitely see the potential there. Other than the one fender and the tail light, it looks pretty straight. Love the 90s colours. Perfect. Personally, I would clean the heck out of that car before I started any thing mechanical. I hate working on dirty vehicles, and I love detailing, so I would detail it to within an inch of it's life before tackling the mechanical. That would include full disassembly of the interior. Seats, carpets, door panels, side panels, much of the dash, center console, etc...everything out! Each piece cleaned and hit with a steamer before being reassembled. I'd also get it up on jackstands, get the wheels off, get one of those undercar attachments for a pressure washer and clean the underside and the wheel wells. Engine bay too. Carefully. Once it looks as close to showroom as possible, I'd start with Bill's advice on manually turning the engine. And if it turns, I'd pick up a new timing belt, plugs, wires, battery, all fluids, etc. All of that easily replaceable maintenance stuff. I'd wonder about the electrical. If it's been sitting that long in those trees, I'd be certain that critters have been making homes and chewing on wires.

The Mercedes kit is nice. I have a couple of those in different liveries. The kits I'm after are out there and available, a little pricy, but available. I'm hoping to find someone that wants to trade. I don't need to increase the stash. I just want to downsize it!

Corvette?
iamsuperdan replied to Brudda's topic in 1:1 Reference Photos: Auto Shows, Personal vehicles (Cars and Trucks)
Not my taste visually, but I'm a big fan of the work that Kindig and his shop put out. It's sad to think that this car will never be driven and enjoyed on a regular basis. I mean, maybe the owner will be driving this on weekends and whatnot...but I somehow doubt it.
