  1. Every July the Calgary Vintage European Car Club (or whatever the official name is) hosts their annual show. Weather is always hot and sunny. Lots of beautiful things to see. Arguable, the rarest and coolest car there. And he didn't clean it. And because the normal Mini is just too darn big...
  2. I really like this. Long time VW owner/fan, and have wanted a Mk2 Scirocco for ages. If you do decide to sell the files for printing, I'd be interested.
  3. Or just shut it down to the public, remove most of the grandstands and the large skidpad, build a nice big house, rent the open space to farmers, and enjoy your private race track. That's probably the better option, less paperwork, fewer rules, more driving as fast as I want.
  4. That Blazer is going to be a big seller for sure. I wonder though about the VW van. I love it, but hoping the price is significantly less than the recent RoG VW T3 van. It's a great kit, but not cheap.
  5. If that was local, I'd be in to that for sure. Taxes on a facility of this size would be quite large, so being able to pull in large events would be important. Still, keep the drag strip busy every weekend, try and get one event a month or the road course, plus renting the road course to various car clubs and driving schools... Could be fun.
  6. Man, 2024 is just on a tear the last week or so. Shelley Duvall Richard Simmons Dr Ruth Shannen Doherty Bob Newhart
  7. So for those of you into podcasts, I found a good one. Richard Hammond has one with his daughter, called Who We Are Now. In general, it's pretty good. But the newest episode is espeically interesting, as the guests are James May and Olly Raeburn, who is the president of Hornby Hobbies. They have a great discussion about why we build models, and why building models gets the reactions it does. I highly recommend this one! Here's the Spotify link, but I'm sure it's available on other podcast platforms. H

  8. What's that? Oh nothing...just a $300k Porsche GT2 RS parked on the side of the road. To be fair, we know this guy as we supply his company all of their trucks. They were paving their yard today, so all staff were parked on the street.
  9. Finally had a client lower his truck instead of lift it! 2024 F150 STX 3/5 lowering kit 22" wheels Borla exhaust blacked out tail lights and window tint. Oh, and the Ford / Roush supercharger kit...a little over 700hp. The sidesteps are coming off today.
  10. Lee has no account restrictions of any kind.
  11. Good to see this one back!
  12. suno.com Make songs for free! And it can get very amusing. Enter your criteria, and the genre you want, and it will spit out a song. Such as this one I just made. https://suno.com/song/60e5743b-1082-46a1-84cc-6bcff610356a Yes, Model Prison is the song of the summer.
  13. There's a couple of those guys I watch, even though I'm not entirely sure why. Mad4Motors RRC Restoration Restored The Late Brake Show For me, it's detailers. I don't know why I watch these guys. Ammo NYC The Detail Geek Detail Dane Like you, it makes me think I should get a project. Then I remember I have a couple of trucks that are just sitting untouched.
  14. Got into my truck last night at the end of the day...was reading 40 degrees C. In the shade. That's 104 F. Thank goodness for AC. Both in the vehicles and in the home. Hands down the best upgrade we've done to our house. The weather gurus are saying rain this evening, so that should cool things down nicely.
  15. This starts as an irk, but overall, is a positive. Things just work out sometimes. So my boy is 19, and has been driving my '99 Tahoe for a couple of years now. He needed something reliable to get back and forth to college, get to work, etc; so the Tahoe basically became his. Well, typical teenager in his own world, he neglected to mention a few things when I took it to do an oil change last week. Like how the instrument cluster doesn't work. How long has this been going on? "I don't know, a month or so maybe?" Plus when I drove it to the shop, it seemed sluggish and the trans wasn't shifting. Oh great. So I'm expecting bad things, like needing a transmission replacement. Turns out, a new ignition switch fixed literally all of the cluster and transmission issues. However, the inspection the shop did found that the front and rear brakes are finished, and that most of the front end needs replacing. Plus one O2 sensor is faulty. And I need to replace some body parts from when he tagged a parkade wall in the winter. And it is developing a little rust in the usual areas. All told, looking at some big repair bills. The shop quoted $4k CDN for the suspension and brakes. Yeah, no. Cue the positives now. However, we just took in a pretty sweet trade on a new Explorer. And after checking it out and discussing with our GSM, I bought it for $750 CDN. 2004 Lincoln Aviator Ultimate. Pearl white, grey leather, heated/vented seats, moonroof, rear buckets, 4.6L V8, basically everything but navigation. Higher km, but we have every service record since day 1, and it is very well maintained. Everything works, no leaks, no weird noises, no weird smells, no accidents, no rust. Recent service included brakes and some suspension bushings, plus every fluid front to back. Interior is pretty much mint. Has a couple of scratches, but nothing major. Previous owner was OCD about maintenance, which I appreciate! I just need to put a windshield in it. And probably a new head unit with bluetooth. So the boy will drive that while I slowly tackle the Tahoe. Body work and brakes I can do. Will get a shop to handle the front end. Even with doing a lot of it myself, the repairs will still be 3X the cost of the Lincoln! Here's a couple of pics, in "as traded" condition. I'll be detailing it this weekend. Currently 35 degrees Celcius though, so I'm not going to spend much time working outdoors this week!
  16. Nope, nope nope. There's no way this topic could be discussed without politics entering.
  17. I continue to be incredibly impressed with this one!

  19. Well, I have an assistant who is all about helping out in that regard!
  20. Having ordered those over the years, that is National Forestry Service Green. Special order colour for customers with a fleet code with GM, Ram, or Ford. No extra charge, just check the box when ordering. Typically on GM trucks, it was only available on the most basic of trim levels. Either the WT (work truck) trim as you pictured, and in later years, the Chev Base and LS trim, and GMC base and SL trims. As they were work trim levels, you almost never see these trucks with alloy wheels, carpet, power windows/mirrors/locks, CD players, etc. I'm actually kind of surprised that truck pictured has chrome bumpers. I'd drive that truck all day long. I like the base models, and I LOVE what I call crayon colours on vehicles.
