  1. Awesome project! Looking forward to the updates!
  2. You've inspired me. I downloaded the files earlier this evening.
  3. I love Rammstein. And anything industrial and heavy. Lately I've been listening to a lot of Fear Factory. And also a somewhat newer band called Orbit Culture. And saw Ministry here in town a couple of months ago.
  4. Which part? The part where I stated files were available for download? Or the part where his print files were high quality? I'm not speaking to the accuracy of the files for this item.
  5. I had a UPS guy show up and he had a portable debit machine, so could collect the COD payment right there on my front step. Just like paying for pizza delivery. Maybe the postal service does the same?
  6. If anyone is messaging you and telling you to email someone else about kits or parts, IT IS A SCAM. Doesn't matter what names are being used. Even if they are real member names, IT IS A SCAM. The email address will be a dead giveaway. And if you suspect it might possible be legit? It's not. IT IS A SCAM. Be warned.
  7. Yup! Just everyone have a little patience as we work through everything. And prepare to have your minds blown. Seriously, some people will absolutely lose their minds when we unveil everything. I really want to drop a hint or two. But I'm not going to. 🤪
  8. I can't speak for the US, but here in Canada, we would get a parcel notice in our mailbox that states we have a parcel awaiting us at the post office and that there are COD charges involved. Then we have to go down to the post office, pay the bill, and they hand us our package. I've never refused payment, so not sure what would happen then. I guess it gets shipped back to the sender?
  9. Canada had a mail strike last year, just before the Christmas rush. They received back to work legislation in late December forcing them back to work. That expired in June, and they've been at work without an agreement. And of course, they've been threatening to go back on strike, and can literally walk off the job any time now. Guessing they'll wait until November, for obvious reasons.
  10. Here's my thread! I don't think I've ever posted the completed model in Under Glass. Will do so tonight when I get home.
  11. Okay, I'm going need to find that on Cults. That's pretty cool. One of the designers I like has just introduced a bunch of tooned cars. Including a '58 Plymouth. A tooned Christine is something I can get behind!
  12. And that is exactly why a lot of companies are temporarily stopping the use of their postal systems for shipping to the US. Until the muddy waters are clear, they're just stopping. Here's the thing though, many companies are also choosing to offer shipping through couriers like DHL or FedEx or whatever. It works, but is expensive. How badly do people want their stuff? And work, we're wading through this issue with parts for our trucks. Parts for our US built trucks are more expensive now, and the extra shipping costs are kind of crazy. Good thing we shifted production back in January, and all of my Canadian market trucks are built in Canada now. No shipping issues here. And on that note, the only country I'm not purchasing from right now is the US. It's disappointing that models, model parts, and supplies; not to mention vehicle parts and guitar parts, are now cheaper for me to purchase from Europe or elsewhere, than from the country closest to me.
  13. Further to Les' response, there is a lot going on behind the scenes, and a lot of changes coming to improve functionality of the board. Some of these will be obvious, some will be "backstage" so to speak. It's exciting. And yes, changes to our little internet forum can be exciting. We have discussed everything brought up so far, and for the most part everything makes sense. And many of the suggestions will be implemented in some way. Not all of the changes will be immediate, as some of these could take some time to set up. But it will be worth it. I know....this is all very cryptic. An update that gives basically no info. It will all become clear. Eventually.
  14. It appears the part numbers are either out of production, or just not available.
  15. Cleaned up nicely! Although....I think I'd keep the convertible and restore/build that!
  16. Both users have been banned since early July. 👍
  17. So this was an experiment. I have never used an airbrush before, but thanks to Tamiya's decision to stop importing their spray paint to Canada, I decided it was time to make the switch. I picked up a full kit from Amazon; brush, compressor, all the extras. Grabbed some supplies like airbrush cleaner and a proper spray booth, and I was off to the races. But wait! What kit do I sacrifice to the gods of experimentation and possible failure? The answer was Italeri's Porsche 944 S Cabriolet kit. It's been languishing on the shelf for a bit, so I figured it would be the perfect candidate. It's a simple kit. Really just a slight reworking of their 944 Turbo coupe kit from around 1986. In fact, it has all of the Turbo pieces and decals. And that got me thinking. Porsche never made a 944 S Cabriolet. So it's odd that Italeri named their kit an 944 S. Porsche did make a 944 S2 Cabrio, which this kit could also replicate (except for the wheels) but I digress. However, for Europe only, in 1991, Porsche made a very limited 944 Turbo Cabriolet. They only made just over 600 of these cars. That decided it. I downloaded and 3D printed a set of Turbo Cab correct Porsche "Clubsport" wheels, and 3d printed a better set of Porsche tombstone seats, because the stock seats are terrible. The rest of the kit is box stock. I prepped it as usual, filling in some sink marks with Tamiya putty, sanding everything smooth, priming, sanding, priming, sanding. I think I spent more time than usual on prep, because I wanted to really make the finish look good on this. I chose Porsche Yachting Blue Metallic which a PTS colour on most new Porsches. The paint itself is from SPlash Paints. Pre-mixed, ready to paint. And I painted. Did a few coats, and was super happy with how smooth it laid down. And with how little paint is used when compared to spray. I also used Splash Paints' 2k clear. Yes, I have a proper respirator mask and a spray booth with exhaust fans. I even picked up one of those small cordless polishers off of Amazon. 1 inch polishing pads and Tamiya compunds. The paint finish turned out exchellent. Rest of the kit is meh, but the paint was good. For some reason, the mirrors were not cooperating. Even with new CA glue, and with some pins, they kept slipping off. So the driver's door is kind of a mess. I should have adjusted ride height too. And the wheels were printed just slightly small, although the tires were scaled directly to the factory 16" tire size before being printed. I think if I had lowered it, it would look better. Anyway, on to the next one.
  18. He mentioned the pic was a Tempest and was just showing the colour of the car he saw.
  19. We're on day three of a heat wave. Temps over 30 degrees C (86 F). No sign of rain, and it's supposed to last until Sunday. Averaging almost 10 degrees hotter than normal. Could get interesting, as this weekend is a long weekend and EVERYONE will be out camping. Early September could be big for wildfires.
  20. You're right. It's actually a lot of the postal services. I've used a company in Switzerland before for guitar parts. He has recently posted that Swiss Post is no longer sending parcels to the US. US customs regulations hamper the shipping of goods to the USA
  21. Live mariachi band at Dignity Health? I dig the ingenuity!
  22. I've always liked this little cars. Unfortunately, my6'6" frame has zeron chance of ever being able to enjoy one. Now go put some air in the front right tire. It's low.
