  1. Probably for the same reason that diesel trucks need over 1000lb/ft of torque. It wasn't that long ago that we could buy a 1 ton diesel truck, with half the torque, and still managed to tow massive 5th wheel campers with zero issues. Or why current trucks are so physically huge. I'm 6'6" and I cannot easily reach into the box of a new Ford Super Duty to put stuff in or get stuff out. Or why any sportscar needs wheel diameters larger than 19". As a massive lifelong Porsche nerd, I question why the GT3RS exists when the standard GT3 equals it in almost every way for $40-50k less. And to go a step further, for the majority of Porsche 911 buyers, why does the GT3 exist when the standard Carrera is already more car than they will ever use? And to go even further, why does the Carrera exist when the Boxster will be more car than most Porsche buyers will ever use? Just because.
  2. The two door has been out since 2024. The four door is being released for 2026 model year. And the Hurricane inline 6 engines are building now, should be at dealers soon. Personally, I think the EV version is fantastic. Drives beautifully, looks great, fast, comfortable. And it's a heck of a deal right now. However, I think they should have launched the car with the gas engine. And launched with both the 2 and 4 door models at the same time. People will still moan about not having a Hemi V8. Even though the basic inline-6 has more horsepower, more torque, better fuel economy, and cleaner emissions than the 5.7L. In the trucks, it's faster than the 5.7L Hemi ever was. And the HO Hurricane 6 is a better performer than the 6.4L SRT Hemi, with more HP and torque.
  3. My daughter works as a counsellor for a summer camp. Every fall, they do a haunted house experience in the woods on the grounds of the camp. It takes about 20 minutes to wander the trails and experience the various scare stations. Anyway, this year, I was voluntold that I'd be one of the scarers. So I donned my blackest outfits, put on the supplied mask, and lurked in the woods. Apparently, got a lot of comments that I was the creepiest character. Probably the only time that's a good thing at a camp for kids. I felt like I was in some Norwegian Black Metal band. Without the murders. Or the church burnings.
  4. I think that looks awesome. Perfect colours for a 90s icon like that. I've heard this is a challenging kit to build. Yours might be the best example I've seen.
  5. I've had a couple of cool jobs. In 1991, I started as a lot attendant/detailer for the local Volkswagen/Porsche dealer. Porsche were my fav cars growing up, so this really excited me. Over the next few years, I got a chance to drive all kinds of rare and expensive cars. Here I am, 18 years old, and I'm allowed to take cars home with me. Bring home new 964s, a 928 GTS. I remember getting to spend a weekend with a 964 C4 Cabrio in Rubystone Red. I was there until 1997. Spent a few years doing the similar thing at the BMW dealer. Then in 2001, went back to the same VW/Porsche dealer, this time as a Porsche sales person. Again, I was encouraged to take the demo vehicles home on weekends. We were heavily involved with the local chapter of the Porsche Club of America, and did autocrossing every other Sunday from April through September. The training sessions that Porsche did for new vehicles were amazing. Each training sessions was two or three days at a special venue in the US. We got to do some classroom learning, then a day or street driving, then a day on a racetrack. California Motor Speedway, Fireball Raceway, Texas Motor Speedway, Road America, Laguna Seca, Barber Motorsports Park. n 2004, our dealership won Porsche Premiere status, which means we were top 5% of dealers in NA, based on sales numbers and customer satisfaction scores. The first Canadian dealer to ever win that. This meant we won a 4 day trip to Barber Motorsports Park in Alabama. We got to go bass fishing for a day with a private guide. Then a fancy dinner and private tour of the Alabama Sport Hall of Fame, hosted by Bart Starr from the Packers. Then we got to spend a day on track, not in the usual 911s and Boxsters. This time it was in Turbos, GT3s, and GT2s. And we got to ride the track in the new Carrera GT. Our instructors were Doc Bundy and Hurley Haywood. The coolest part came after. Because of flights, I was spending an extra night at the hotel, so after the track day, the instructors and hosts were giving me a ride back to the hotel. After everyone left, we were all just hanging around. And that's when it got awesome. "Hey, we still have the track for another hour or so, want to do some more laps?" So I got to go out and do some personal one on one driving with Doc Bundy. And then, I got to take the Carrera GT out on the track. Just an amazing experience. My current job is pretty cool too. Sales Manager for Arctic Trucks Canada. I've been able to travel all over Canada, especially up in the north. Have been able to drive a truck up two mountains at ski resorts in the Canadian Rockies. Offroad adventures in Penticton, BC and up in Whitehorse, Yukon. And a couple of trips coming up in 2026, to super remote sites in Quebec and Iqaluit.
  6. Okay, I'll be that guy. That's not where a Tesla charging port is. Plus, the Tesla, and most other EVs can't charge while the car is "running."
  7. I have no idea. But I know for sure they ship to Canada. 👍
  8. These look pretty close. 🛞 19/20 US Mags Standard・ STL File for ・Cults Files come with different widths for the outer rim. And the separate rims make it much easier to paint the spokes and the polished rim.
  9. Nicely done! Time for a family shot of all three of them! I have the standard Testarossa kit. Need a bigger workbench though!
  10. Small delivery from ZoomOn. Porsche emblems and some mesh.
  11. Definitely following along for this one.
  12. 100% speculation by the Motor Trend people. The Camaro is NOT coming back. As for the Mach-E, it's an awesome car. Looks good. Room for 4 adults. Big trunk/hatch area. All the features we could want. Brutally fast. Handles great, yet has a comfortable ride. 450km to a charge. 350km to a charge in the Canadian winter. No issues with interior heat or defrost. We loved our GT Performance Edition and would 100% buy another. But we NEVER called it a Mustang.
  13. Ordered up some more paint from Splash Paints. I have at least 4 projects planned with these. And considering that each of the smaller bottles will do two or three kits, I'm in good shape for more.
  14. Nice! I'm halfway through the McLaren Mustang myself. Had to order replacement decals for it. They arrived and look killer. Did some 3d printed upgrades too. Should be able to finish it soon. If the weather and my unheated garage cooperate.
  15. I almost picked up an Emhar kit when I was in England two years ago. But the box was a little larger, and there's only so much room in my suitcases! It was the Bedford OSBT, kit 2402. Now I'm kicking myself.
  16. That can be ordered!
  17. Imagine being a Ford tech. The diesel Superduty has the most packed engine bay I've ever seen. Imagine having to do any work in here. Fun fact, there are at least 7 different "radiators" in the front of one of these trucks depending on how it's optioned and what the cooling requirements are. New Ford Bronco. Regular maintenance should be fun. Replacing components should be even more fun! Why do people want a model kit of the new Bronco with a full engine? I don't want to build or look at this!
  18. How does that saying go about opinions and what they're like? So for everyone that dislikes a colour, there will be someone who loves it. Case in point: the OP posted Chevrolet's new Cacti Green. HE hates it. I love it. Reminds me of my dream Land Rover in Keswick Green. And if someone hates the colour of the CYbertruck, then that must mean they also hate this: And must also hate the colour on this: Myself, I can't understand Toyota's thinking with this. Terra. It's even worse in person.
  19. On the flip side, VW actually made it easy on one vehicle. The early T4 generation Transporter/Eurovan/Caravelle. They put the entire front grille and radiator assemble on a hinge so that it could be easily moved out of the way to access the front of the engine. Not much different than opening the hood.
  20. I normally hate patina and ratty looking cars, but I would drive that think as is. It looks like it just wants to do burnouts all the time. If he wants to drive it up here, I'll give him $1000 for it and will fly him home! Don't tell my wife I said that.
  21. The Volkswagen VR6 engine was fantastic. However... THere is a coolant pipe that runs along the front of the engine. It is of course, made from plastic. Well as you might guess, after a few years of hot coolant, cold temperatures, and hot engines, that plastic gets brittle, and it WILL fail. Luckily, the aftermarket has a fix for VW's "crackpipe." And on a related note, the first generation Porsche Cayenne S. This one came with a 4.5L V8 that is a sweet, sweet engine. People should be swapping this into vehicles instead of the LS. Anyway, it has a flaw. The plastic coolant pipe...that runs in the V of the engine. Of course, it will always fail. And of course, the aftermarket has a bulletproof aluminum replacement. But the labour involved to get to it is ridiculous. Still...I've been eyeballing those first gen Cayenne S models. They're inexpensive to buy, parts are not as ridiculous as people think, and they are fun to drive; on road, off road, and on a track.
  22. Oooh, and the mid-90s GM V6 cars that need to have the entire engine tilted forward to access the rear spark plugs.
  23. Got any more pics of that Volvo 740 wagon? I love me some Volvo wagon.
  24. I don't know why, but this thing is speaking to me. Want.
