  1. I like it! Integrating the Caddy tail lights. 👍
  2. Your friend's green Newport is awesome. I wonder if it's a corporate thing for A&W to have stores host these weekly events. There's an A&W here that shares a parking lot with a big retail store, and hosts a show every Saturday night from May through September. If the weather holds, I shoudl try and get to it this weekend.
  3. That BMW 8-series is stunning. I have wanted an 8 for years. Awesome. And that red C8 Corvette. Already has his boomer sign signifying how rare it is. Lolz.
  4. Yes, I do drive this beast daily. And when I want to fit in a parking lot or use a Tim Hortons drive thru, I always have our old trusty '06 Volvo XC90. Or the '99 Thaoe LT project. Wifey currently driving a2016 Kia Soul. The boy has a 2004 Lincoln Aviator. Our daughter just got her license, so she'll probably inherit the Volvo. Or we'll sell the Volvo, give her the Kia, and then wifey gets a new vehicle. Fun times.
  5. Excellent colour choice. I kinda dig the white wheels. Having said that, the white wheels would go really well with white rally stripes. I can't believe I typed that, as I generally dislike stripes of any kind on anything.
  6. All of those British Fords from the 80s just rusted apart. My cousin had a Fiesta XR2, orange of course. When it rusted apart, he switched to VW GTIs and still drives them to this day. An old Ford Sierra would be awesome too. I don;t even need the Cosworth. I'd like a Sierra Estate.
  7. An Escort XR3i Cabriolet?! I would LOVE to get my hands on one of those! If I ran into those cars at the same time, I'd hardly notice the Sunbeam.
  8. There it is! I still have a couple of boxes of C&D mags from the 80s. I'm pretty sure this is in there.
  9. It's not authentic at all, nor is it supposed to be. It'a a parody, satire. It's 100% supposed to be a film that makes you laugh, and that's it. There's no high level message, there's no deep meaning. There was no attenpt to be accurate. Anyone watching this and expecting accuracy is the same sort of person who watches Austin Powers and thinks that's exactly how London was in the 60s. Or reads Harry Potter and thinks it's real.
  10. Nice! The steel wheels look great on that.
  11. Nice! I built one of these back in the day. Used to really like the Fiero.
  12. See this is the whole thing though. It's a hassle. I have to inventory everything, box it up safely, then find the right means to dispose of it all. When I go, I don't want my family to have to deal with this kind of thing. Will my wife or my kids want to deal with finding homes for a couple of hundred models? Nah, best to start liquidating the easier items now.
  13. That's one of the reasons I'm trying to downsize. When I eventually go, I don't want my family to have to deal with all of my stuff. Plus, I'm worried she'll sell it all for what I told her I paid for it! 🤪 I'm dealing with that now with my dad's stuff. He passed 6 years ago, and we're slowly getting rid of his collections. N scale trains - donated most of these to a local museum that has train layouts G scale trains 1:64 NASCAR diecast - what do I do with a couple of hundred tiny NASCARs? Matchbox Models of Yesteryear - probably 100 of these diecasts, all from the 70s and 80s, all kept in a glass case. And I still have a box containing all of the original boxes. Airplane models - I'm keeping all of these for now. Boat models Camera equipment, but it's all film equipment, not digital. DVDs It's tiring.
  14. If I remember correctly, Zimmer even got the Quicksilver on the cover of Car And Driver. Was a legit company. Not sure how many the actually made though. Guessing the cost was quite high.
  15. Will trade for cash! And could meet you in Saskatoon. Save you some driving. Would save me having to deal with Kijiji or Marketplace. 🤢
  16. Unpopular opinion: your wife is right. My wife definitely thinks I have too many kits, but at the end of the day doesn't really care because they're in the gargae and out of sight. I had to come to a decision myself. So I haven't bought a new kit in ages. Probably some point last year. I've bought some paint and supplies, but no new kits. I've also gone through the stash, and have to figure out a way to unload about 70-80 kits that I still find interesting but will probably never build. That leaves north of 100 kits on my shelf that I don't want to get rid of.
  17. VERY cool! That's just screaming for a diorama though!
  18. Sorry, I can't think of The Beach Boys without hearing this version of I Get Around.
  19. Musical genius, tortured soul.
  20. Sherps are technically our competition, but not really. They just excel at different things than we do. They do well on water and swampy boggy areas, where we don't do water floatation.
  21. Looks like I forgot a coupel of things. Did some testing of the truck in late May. Drove it to the top of two ski hills/mountains here in the Canadian Rockies. First up was Marmot Basin in Jasper. Ski season ended abotu two weeks before these pics. Aired down to 20 psi and made it to the upper chair with ease. They usually only take snowmobiles and groomers here. Then we drove down to Sunshine Village. Elevation is about 2000ft higher than at Marmot. Ski season ended the day before we arrived. We easily drive everywhere their existing maintenance vehicle go. Then the VP of operations asked if we could see how far we could go.So we drove to the top of the hill. He's been there almost 20 years, and says this is the first time a wheeled vehicle has been able to get to the top. The snow is what they call mid-packed, and is about 6ft deep here. Found the units they normally use here. Coming down was fun. That's the same route we took up to the top. Was a fun couple of days, and fingers crossed, will translate into some business. Have quoted out a total of 6 vehicles to these hills. And once the ski industry as a whole learns about this... Also, it was my daughter's high school grad last weekend. The boy has his college graduation on the 24th. Then in July, my daughter turns 18, the boy turns 21. And then in early August, it's our 25th anniversary. Busy summer!
  22. Maybe a little bit of orange peel in there, but will still look great on the shelf. I like the black more than the yellow you had picked out.
  23. Aliens. Duh. Either that, or it's the speakers/PA for a football stadium. You just can't see the cables supporting it.
  24. You're 100% correct. Engineering could easily lighten that car significantly. But here's the rub. Your typical Mustang owner wouldn't buy that car. I'm not talking about car guys or enthusiasts. I'm talking about the typical Mustang buyer. If you were to de-content and lighten the car, those people would go away, because they NEED all the stuff. Plush seating for 4, thick sound deadening, thicker and quieter windows, plush carpet, power everything, all the speakers, touchscreens, heated seats, vented seats, auto transmission with paddles, tilt and telescoping steering, 20 inch wheels, spoilers, fog lights, etc. They need the comfort and the luxury. Then the regulations come into effect. Crash structures, a dozen or so airbags with pre-tensioners, blind spot monitors, rear cameras, etc. Then add all of the emissions items required. Not to mentioned the miles and miles of wiring needed to run all of the electronics and computers. All of the above adds a ridiculous amount of weight. I would love to see ford bring out a lightweight Mustang. Leave the safety stuff, leave the emissions stuff, strip out the features. Porsche used to do that. Go back a few years and compare my dream car, the Carrera RS to a standard 911 Carrera. All the luxury features went out the door. Heck, the doors became literally a flat panel with a pull strap to open it. No power steering, no AC, no stereo, no cruise control, no back seat, no sunroof, thinner glass, no sound deadening, thinner carpets. The car was significantly lighter, and far more fun to drive. Alas, the only way to do that now would be to do it yourself. Buy a Mustang, and "ruin" it. I'd love to do that.
