  15. Thanks, Dan I do appreciate it. It's a little darker in the pic that it really is... and it was a craptacular camera too. I'm gonna get a pic of my kids, that I'm going to build for his graduation as soon as I dig the body out.

  17. Awesome looking Nova! Good job! and that Camaro looks good, too.
  18. Thanks, I appreciate it! I covered it with just enough Tru-oil to protect it, but left just enough feeling of raw wood it feel great. And the play wear now is starting to rub through in spots so it's got that old furniture look and feel going on now.
  19. Here's my first attempt... I was going for a guitar on a budget. Had traded around and collected the fender hardware over a couple years. Got the unfinished Alder body and satin finished neck off Warmoth's Showcase. The neck is maple and rosewood fretboard with jumbo frets. Prewired pickguard with Seymour Duncan JB/Jazz pickups... I finished the guitar body for a whopping $20... That's right, $20... Minwax "Special Walnut" stain and topped off with Birchwood Casey Tru-Oil... I've played this one almost exclusively for 2 years.
  20. DAN! That is a beaut! It's kinda like a Fender/Charvel love child... The ones in the background look wicked too. I'll have to make some pics of my 2 Homebuilds...
  21. Thanks, Dan! I do appreciate it! I'm a Jb in the bridge of a strat sort of guy... Have 2 with the JB/Jazz combo. I love the sound of single coils, but they don't really go well with my band... and the buzzing in some of the DIVES we play, would be hellabad... so I tend to only play them at home.So this time I wanted to do something a little different, but not upset all the settings on my amp. In the neck I have a STk S7 and a STk S4m in the middle, but the bridge is still a JB. Can't wait to see your guitar! In other news, PM'd ya back...
  22. Didn't know if I should put it here, so I put it in the "All the Rest" section under NGD... put a link below. NGD
  23. Hello all... A little back story... I decided a few years back to assemble my first partscaster. After extensive research I decided to go with Warmoth. The build went splendidly. And that guitar has become my favorite by far... I then decided to build my son one for a graduation present. He graduates in 2018, so I have plenty of time to get all the stuff and assemble over a couple years. At the time I decided it was 2015, so yeah, plenty of time... SOOO... I purchased not one but 2 unfinished warmoth bodies, just incase I wanted to do another one... and ashamed to say... forgot about about 1 of them. Around Christmas, I started compiling the last of the parts to build my sons graduation present. While diggin out the hardware, to take inventory, I stumbled on the body that I had forgotten about. I decided to get it painted a sunburst in nitro. Sent some emails to various shops, since a sunburst is way outta my realm of comfort. I decided to work with MJT aged finishes... I decided to go for what they call, a closet clean finish. It's meant to look like a guitar that was purchased 50 or so years ago, played for awhile, then put away and forgotten. Slighty banged up, dulling to the finish, maybe some cracks here and there... This is what it came back looking like... It came back looking even better than I expected... I got on Warmoth and came across a neck in their showcase section, that had an "aged" satin finish. But this one was a little lighter than the norm... which is good, because an "aged" finish usually means....YELLOW... Ordered a prewired pickguard from Sigler music. I like buying my guitar electronics from them. Kinda a small shop... Not a Guitar Center... I don't do guitar center... Anyway, to keep from boring you any further this past weekend I assembled it... put it through it's paces at practice last night... and I'm pleased to say I think she's a keeper... So, without further ado... Still have to put on a headstock decal... if I do... but this is basically how she'll look. Good thing the kiddo don't graduate for another year lol... as always, thanks for looking.
  24. I definitely like where this is going. I'm going keep an eye on this.
