  1. Top: Issue 1. Middle: Issue 2. Bottom: The Street Rods issue. Bet the truck trophy top is simply welded off. Round2 doesn't seem to like cutting into the tools anymore.
  2. I don't think the 1/25th tool still exists. AMT did a huge scrap and purge back around 1973. Reduced the taxable assets but a lot of those cool old annuals bit the dust from that.
  3. Do these look familiar? These are the re-tooled Ala Kart wheels from the recent Mod Rod reissue.
  4. Tim, do those new chrome reversed wheels look much like the newly retooled Ala Kart wheels in the Mod Rod reissue? That's what they look like on the box.
  5. Yep. The first Re-issue has wheel covers that are similar (I believe) to the 64 Corvette wheel covers. I had one of those for a while. Something I haven't seen mentioned yet is if they restored/retooled the crossed flags trophy base. The 57 Ford also used to have one. Will post a pic if I get a chance.
  6. You knocked that one out of the park 6 ways from Thursday. Gorgeous build.
  7. I'm one of those that wish they would have included the original wheel covers. Fortunately I have a few sets. My guess is (looking at the box art) that it will include the newly retooled Aka Kart wheels from the Mod Rod reissue. All good. Really glad to see the service truck parts restored!
  8. Only one thing to do then. Stick a Y block in there! ;-)
  9. I love it! What did you end up putting under the hood?
  10. Actually, the suspension is the easy part. Pretty much the entire King T chassis and running gear can be found under the the MPC Outcast and Fire Truck kits.
  11. Absolutely gorgeous.
  12. Excellent in every way.
  13. If you are missing any parts, the MPC Ice Cream Truck has most of the chassis and running gear for the Wild Dream and the Outcast/Fire Truck kits have similar from the King T. There are others, but these come to mind off the top of my head.
  14. I'll have to dig up the photos of the one I had. I didnt notice before that they were molded in one piece. Regardless, the Woody has separate heads and intake manifold and I've test fitted the intakes between several Monogram small blocks so I know they will fit. (One of my bucket list projects involves using the blower from the 55 Street Machine on a Monogram T bucket to recreate the Swee-Tee). It fits perfectly, as does the Woody intake.
  15. Not a lot of progress - still trying to come up with some suitable head light stanchions. But it mocks up decently.
  16. I hate to nitpick but that car is residing in the totally wrong zip code. But send it here to South Carolina and I can fix that for you! Seriously though, that's a gorgeous build. Well done.
  17. The Monogram 56 and 57 Chevy tools would make great boat anchors. I've seen Palmer kits that looked better.
  18. Looking good Bill! Looking good Bill! No seriously, really nice work!
  19. The presentation is almost as cool as the build. Very awesome.
  20. I have a gut feeling Testors never had the molds. They may have just packaged them and distributed them much like AMT did with Johan stuff back in the early 70s. Testors also branded the old IMC 48 Ford kits. But... ya never know, maybe somewhere off in a dark corner in Rockford, Illinois....
  21. Love the Maverick, but that Bird is off the hook cool.
  22. Actually saw this for the first time today. Off the hook amazing build.
  23. Gorgeous. Great color and really has the feel of an early custom.
  24. You had me at the fully chromed A pillars. Next to nobody gets that right.
