Havent made alot of progress lately, I semi stopped to participate in a Instragram 1 month build, now that its over its back to the Soviet Silvia! Made up a bunch of hoses & wiring, Managed to get the engine mounted to the chassis, now lots of auxiliary stuff needs to be made / added before moving on to the interior.

Hey Guys I built this for an Instagram 1 month build off with the theme of tuners, fun build, really nice kit from Aoshima. Added a few things, spoiler, interior detail, swapped the wheels etc. Colour is Porsche Miami Blue from Splash Paints, great paint, sprayed really nicely. Wheels & tyres are from Eightyone Mini WIP - Let me know what you think Cheers! Ash

Hey Alex, just followed the instructions with the body coloured chassis rails, the engine bay is painted the same colour, except there currently is no engine. Have plans to add one in the future when my hobby shop gets the AE86 with engine kit back instock. Managed to finish it off almost a day early. Voting finished over the weekend, think I ended up 4th or 5th. But didnt enter to win, just a bit of fun.

I needed some awesome brakes to go with the better wheels, found a resin set from an old eightyone transkit (pretty sure it was their widebody 86... ironic...) but they had the tamiya fitment, not the larger aoshima size like the wheels, so out came the dremel & a fair few minutes later the brakes fit inside the wheels. Chassis is also painted & ready for some detail painting & weathering

Heres a few pics with the gloss clearcoat, Ive since wet sanded it pretty BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH smooth, ready for Matte clearcoat this weekend!

Hey Mate, cheers! Yeah the fender colours was something I struggled with, most pics I saw were body colour, some werent. Im pretty happy with what ive done, I'll chuck up a pic tomorrow. Yeah Splash ship worldwide, their bottle even says safe for air freight... I added the 2 colours I wanted to a mate who was ordering from them, from memory he said it shipped the next day & only took about a week to arrive at the bottom of the world, one of the paints leaked a bit though. Hey Alex! Yeah Ive now clearcoated the CF, ready to be masked & painted. Think I'll go with matte black though to keep up my colour theme.

Hey Guys Ive signed up for a 1 month Instagram group build with the Theme of Tuners. Got this excellant Aoshima kit for farthers day & it seemed perfect for the group build. Ive added a rear spoiler & wheel swap to keep things interesting. Decided to try out Splash paints & went with Porsche's Miami Blue, hard to photograph but excellant colour, great paints, covers really well, bottle is only 30ml but ive got at least 2/3's of it left as it coveres really well. Added some extra detail to the interior tub before painting. Sadly this kit doesnt have an engine, but there is another Aoshima kit that comes with the engine that I could drop in later. Wheels will be Eightyones TE37v Bronze Kevlar for the seats, which had their seat belt holes opened up. Needs to be completed by the 29th I think, so lots of work to do!!! Clearcoat + others this weekend! Ash
