  1. Not gonna lie, some of what’s come out in Meme form has been pretty funny! Even Crazy Cooter has got in on it!
  2. I had wondered that with Mom’s passing when I found out kidney failure was part of it about a month ago, I think Dad may be wondering about that as well. You ever stop to think this might be serious enough to have the business response is justified, especially looking to see what has helped in areas of the world that have done was shown in that I quoted vs what our federal leaders are doing.
  3. This was posted on another forum I go on, seemed to be a pretty good finding!
  4. My guess is that people might be equating it with the Rotavirus, especially when it comes to the cruise ships. That........or they think it’ll give them the Schlitz
  5. Schools here are now closed for the next couple weeks as is the library my Sister and her Husband work for. Just not sure how my employer is going to handle things yet, but we got a “work at home” questioner through the company email though.
  6. Dad and I have decided to skip this months club meeting, just to be safe.
  7. Supernatural fans that “Have to have it”, don’t know any better when it comes to this hobby , or relatives of theirs that don’t!
  8. What’s the difference between the regular and Petty Belvedere kits?
  9. We need to think about this number, 36,000.......... 36,000 People killed by other people, both involving parties just humans trying to get somewhere while at least one of them if not both isn’t paying attention to their surroundings maybe have some pedestrians that just want to end it while hoping that final act will provide for their families (Dad had been sure of that in many railroad death investigations he was involved in as a track worker and supervisor/manager, even with some drivers too, especially if alcohol was involved) might have some people that are entitled enough to think you should stop for them, even at the last possible second.....even if you’re operating a locomotive that is loaded and running interstate speeds, or that you’re just in their way (even more so if you’re on foot or 2 wheels) and have no problems going through you or shoving you out of their way if they deem you a nuisance to their daily lives Better drivers training or even retraining for those of us that have been licensed for a while would likely help those numbers, even though cluelessness, ego, and entitlement may win out in some cases.
  10. Not sure if this comes from growing up, going through drivers ed, then continuing to live near Chicago has anything to do with it, but I already have more trust in self driving cars than I do most local motorists.......well, other than Uber's anyway. Seems like when I read things about a collision between self driving cars and other road users, usually it's the human that has screwed up and/or made an attempt to cause a collision with a self driver.
  11. Your thoughts are much like mine Dave, I'd even add beigemobile drivers and those who'd rather read or play on their devices to that list. Keep those people in the self drivers that would cruise in the slow lane so those who are driving because they want to don't have to deal with rolling road blocks and rolling chicanes!
  12. Thanks for the info guys, I’ll probably stick with the standard chassis and/or buy a second Buick to use for that Caddy Chassis Swap........wonder if I still have any of the ‘66 Riv Lowrider kits I bought in the late 90’s or early 00’s still.........
  13. Thanks guys, I was just curious since I recently bought the Buick kit at HL and have an Impala Convertible kit with no engine and cracked windshield frame. I had forgotten about the Impala kit until I started pulling the kits out of my Cherokee......turns out had five and a half 27 gallon totes full of styrene between the XJ and 200, one of 1/18 diecasts, and one with a bunch of random R/C parts and bodies that came out of the Jeep
  14. How accurate would the chassis under the newer AMT/ERTL '62 Chevy kits if placed under the AMT '62 Buick Electra body and tub? Also what would be a good Nailhead source without ruining the Revell '29 Roadster kit I had stashed away in my Jeep?
  15. Drive something that has boost or variable valve timing (adjusts cam timing on the fly). When I had my turbo cars, they would react a similar was as they got under boost, although the lag less tiny turbos of today may not allow for much of that. The 3.6l in my 200 also has that shove as it accelerates since it can adjust the cam timing from being suitable for bottom end power yet adjust on the fly to keep it making power and pulling to nearly 7k on the tach.
  16. Annd I've found water has been getting into the Jeep's passenger footwell and frozen, plus mold! I've decided to just empty my model and R/C stuff out of it and get rid of it. Texted a former customer from when I worked at HTU who got into 4wd Toyotas in the last couple years to see if he knew anybody that needs a parts XJ, he's going to check and get back to me?
  17. I was going to try and get rid of it and Mom was going to help try and convince Dad we needed to, but when she passed, I figured it might help with as grief therapy as well as physical, to some extent for him instead. He was even more insistant on keeping and fixing it at this point as well, sooooo......
  18. Doubt that’s the issue, it’s had the left side on stands for the last 13mo since we haven’t had the time with caring for Mom before her passing and the bad weather we had last summer (mostly cold and rainy, except August, which was HOOOOOT until before Labor Day). We were planning on getting it running enough to get it through emissions testing again in June, this just has sorta bumped the timeframe to being drivable enough to drive across town on “days 7 and 8” for now then get brakes fully up to snuff once it actually warms up. So long as the battery has a charge, it starts, drives, turns, but only stops with the handbrake at this time....... Luckily, Dad found the failure and has a game plan on getting it driveable by then!
  19. A letter from the city saying my Jeep needs to be off the property in 7 days for being inoperable.......as well as a gallon of brake fluid, Dad wants to start digging into what failed in the brakes last winter and fix them. Part of the reason is to put it back in service so we can use it again.
  20. Picked up a couple 90's Mopars at the DuPage show, including one that has been a unicorn for me.....a 1st Gen Chrysler LHS diecast Been wanting to do a mild custom LHS for 20+ years (in any scale!) and I don't think I've seen a diecast 1st since Chrysler switched to the 2nd gen LH body in the late 90's. Only spent $40 total today too, and that's including the entry fees for Dad and myself!
  21. I think Harry Bentley Bradley’s LaJolla Chevy did, but I don’t ever remember seeing much about it in customs like I have hot rods.
  22. Apparently Dad and I missed out on seeing the Ice Princess and Golden Sahara II when we were at the Chicago Auto Show last Friday.........oh well....
  23. Update the paint and stance then back date the mirrors and rolling stock, that pink and yellow Chevy wouldn’t look too bad..............now if it just had a better chop from the get go..........
  24. I believe a ”Street Rod” is a hot rodded automobile built through the 1948 model year and a “Hot Rod” is vehicle modified to perform better than a stock vehicle would, which could be a fender less Model T with a worked over Flathead 4 to the to the trailer park Camaros that that were used for Bumblebee in the first and last Transformers movies neighbor kid’s ‘97 Civic with the AWD and K-Motor swapped into from a CRV that some “Karen” totaled on her way to talk to some poor manager, to a late model muscle car or super car that has been made even more ridiculously faster than it already was.
