Ill be following along on this one Steve, I have one of these kits in my stash it was a pretty good buildup which was heavily clear laqured over the gold plastic by someone over 45 years ago, the lacquer had aged to the point that it had a slight green tinge to it, imagine that mixed with the grim original gold colour !......not nice lol. I did manage to strip the lacquer and over the past couple of years Ive been slowly ordering the necessary replacement chrome parts I need from Modelhaus. My plan was to paint a light metallic blue with a black vinyl roof, but like you I have hit a stumbling block on the interior or should I say lack of refrence photos !, these cars must have been pretty rare. Im also not a fan of the stock wheelcovers (Look like dustbin lids), so ill have a rethink on those, shame because the 66 trims are quite nice. Keep up the good work Steve, looking forward top seeing your take on this one.

Thanks Gene, yes rear panel/tailight panel, mine was warped bad, I normally dry fit everything before paint and glue but I must have missed this part ! To raise the front you just reverse the front spindles around, that the gives it a better looking slightly raised front end, the rear will need raising slightly too and I just used some packing pieces under the leaf springs for that.

Always admired your work Yuri, but seeing them all together wow !, I love the 71 Ford thats just beautiful.

Revell and West Coast Customs
Mr Stock replied to blubaja's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I was never a fan of the Foose range of kits and I probably wouldn't be of the West coast kits if they decide to produce some however............... the kids love it !, they see these shows on TV and then they go to the store and they can build that car and thats what its all about keeping the youngsters on board to take this hobby into the future. Promoting the Revell brand on a very popular TV show is a very good buisiness move if you ask me. Plus the revenue from selling these kits will give Revell the capital to design the odd new kit for us older modellers. Im all for it. -

Mr Stock replied to squirrel886's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Thats the kit I was thinking of James, for some reason I thought they were using that bodyshell on this kit.....doesnt take a lot to confuse me lol ! -
I habe no idea what Kielbasa is or what it has to do with the 2016 releases from AMT/MPC, I know some threads go off track but I'm lost on this one lol........ perhaps it's because I'm from the UK

There is a 65 Belvedere A990 drag kit coming out from Moebius/Model King early next year, Shaun Svendson has some awesome build up pics on his facebook page it will be the "Melrose Missile" car, there is also an altered wheelbase version due next year. -

Thanks for all the kind comments lads, much appreciated

Where are you finding all these oldies over here in the UK Christian ?, I quite often see some very tempting ones from the US but the postage charges some people quote are outrageous.

I had a real Escort Xr3i about 17 years ago, it was a great car, pretty quick of the mark but like all 70s/80s euro Fords rusted bad !. If you need any help or info let me know Ive worked on a few in the past.

Great job, I had this kit and the sedan delivery about 10 years ago and sold them both, regretted it ever since, very difficult to find here in the UK.

1/25 Revell '72 Hurst/Olds Cutlass Kit
Mr Stock replied to W-Machine's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I was pretty sure they were supposed to be gold stripes, but as this photo shows its a very "orangey" gold. -
Looks beautiful Jens, great choice of colour it really suits it well
-
Very nice Pete, youd never believe it was 1/32, that jaguar looks interesting too
-
Superb build Doc, very very clean and I love the paintwork.
-
This kit is a favourite of mine too, I built one years back which has dissapeared, but have another in the stash, you did a great job Ian, love the black/red combo.
-
Totally agree, Ive got a few vintage kits and rebuilders myself, but they will all get built (eventually! lol ), just a shame these old annuals are as rare as rocking horse doo doo in the UK

1962 Ford Sunliner, Update, 12/4, Finished At Last!
Mr Stock replied to StevenGuthmiller's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Steve sorry if it sounds over the top but I always look forward to your builds, your work is like the ultimate goal that Id like to reach with my own work, your attention to detail is oustanding, that engine is a work of art, seems you dont like doing them!. This is going to be another knockout when finished bud. On a sidenote those wheeltrims are almost identical to the trims they used on the 66-71 Ford Zodiacs over here in the UK. -
Welcome Kev, enjoy the forum, good to see another UK modeller
-
Thanks Ive just read the other thread on the OIds, if Im reading it correctly the original kit has the correct grille to build the Hurst olds only, not the 442.
-
Hmm with all the extra parts in this kit I may have to get one of these too. I have the original special edition kit can anybody tell me what is wrong with this actual kit, Im sure I heard someone mention it has the wrong grille to build a certain version, sorry Im not familiar with the model differences.
