You’re right, it would be nice if the 69 had the vinyl top. Correct me if I’m wrong, but did one year have chrome trim along the bottom too?

My next BOYD project is this 1962 Corvette. I painted this one in November 2018. It was to be a replica of a Corvette I photographed back in 1980! I was 12 years old. My parents house backs up to the parking lot of the West Islip high school. From my bedroom I would always check out the parking lot to see if they were any interest in cars. I spotted this Corvette and grabbed my camera and ran across the parking lot and took some pictures. From running all that way, I guess it made my handshake and the pictures did not come out so well. But I put them in a photo album anyway and always wanted to build a model of that car. With the 62 Corvette being issued by Revell, I thought it was time to give it a go. So I paint the body and then went to my apps printer to print out the decals for the fenders. But I could not get my apps to play with any of my computers anymore. MicroMark came out with a white cartridge for an HP printer last year. I bought it in October of last year but hadn’t set it up until a couple days ago. I printed out the decals and I’m ready to roll again!

Spent about seven hours on the Motion Camaro last night and finished it up! The last picture shows the tow bar attached. That will get painted when the 69 Chevelle is released by Revell. I need that Motion car complete so I can add the receiver to the towbar.

Painted in 1999 or 2000 I would like to submit this 1969 Baldwin Motion Camaro for completion. I have a few more pictures on my phone I will post after tonight’s progress.

I was a big fan of this TV show when it was on. I have that model too, two of them actually. One built and one unbuilt. There was one episode in particular that sticks out in my mind. And I always wanted to do the second model this way. In the episode, he was following somebody at night. He mounted light bar, with various different lights, on the front of the car. Each time he turned a corner, he would flip on a different set of lights to make it look like a different car was behind the person he was tailing.

I painted this body back in 1999 or 2000, it’s a 1969 Baldwin Motion Camaro. This will be part of a two car set. In 1969 Joel sold a Phase lll Chevelle and Camaro to one guy who drove them down to Texas. The Chevelle flat towing the Camaro. He intended to take them into Mexico but paperwork for the Chevelle held the car up. It disappeared into the ether and has never been relocated. The Camaro however changed hands a number of times and ended up in Otis Chandler collection. A couple years back, a recreation of the Chevelle and the Camaro, we’re at Amelia Island. They were posed one behind the other, the way they left Motion Performance for a photo op.

These cars are near and dear to me, as they were my late cousin’s favorite car. I think of him every time I see one. I look forward to watching this build.??

I used sheet plastic on the hood. And I added plastic to the bumper. The grill was kind of tricky. I sliced it from the rear but not all the way through. Then I cut the upper chrome down to the grill. Really just put a slice in it. I was able to warm it in hot water and close up the gap in the rear and then superglue it. Then I filled and added plastic to the upper chrome piece. The end result was close, but probably could be pointed a little bit more. I think yours is more accurate.

I corrected the hood on mine too. I felt it was much too blunt. Of course I had to point the grill and bumper more also. I think it came out fairly well. I was thinking of making a mold of those parts for the other two that I have. I didn’t know about the wheel well and rear window issues. I removed all the GS specific parts from mine and added window frames for the lower base model. It’s going to replicate my cousin’s first car. I think I have you beat on how long mine has been stalled, it was painted in 2001!?

Nice! I have a couple resin 68 and 69 coronet coupes and convertibles. They need to be finished too.

The smallest ribbon I found in craft stores near me was 3 mm. I went on eBay and found rolls 2.5mm in white that could be dyed any color with Sharpies. I find the 2.5 to be more and scale and work with photo etched buckles.

My next dead project has been sitting over a year. 1957 Corvette, blue with red interior.
