  1. Nicely done, makes me want a 1:1 version of it.
  2. For the record, this thread has cost me a good bit of money.
  3. No worries. Glad to help when I can.
  4. Click on "Account Settings", Settings isn't clickable.
  5. Not sure if anyone answered this for you, but you should be able to log on (from the old computer), go to your account settings and change the email address to the new one. Then on the new computer, click on forgot password. Everything should go to your new email address.
  6. Would be worth it! So far my best ride has been riding shotgun in a De Havilland Otter. The smell of burned oil while flying is something you don't soon forget.
  7. I would definitely take a ride in that if I ever had the opportunity.
  8. I have one (almost) like this in my driveway!
  9. I saw what looked to be a nicely done (maybe '69 or '70) GTO convertible. It was black with a white top, it looked a little weird. I think it needed a stripe or something to break up the solid black. Sorry, no photo. We were going 60 mph in opposite directions.
  10. Well, it doesn't say what profession he is a pro at. We do know that he is not a professional painter, photographer or model builder.
  11. I have tried a few times to get that slant six at a reasonable price, with no luck. Great score!
  12. I thought you would of squeezed a what if pickup truck into that lineup.
  13. I would ride all 3 of those, maybe not all out.......who am I kidding, I would peg the throttle and see what they can do. I have taken a few trips to the ER after the phrase " I bet you can't....."
  14. I have used blue painters tape to cover large openings, but I put Tamiya tape at the edges first so the blue tape only touches the Tamiya. Painters tape is a lot cheaper than the Tamiya so I figured to save a few pennies. Has worked well so far.
  15. If you are not happy with the service, then stop using them. Others will continue to use them until they are not happy with the service. Individuals have different thresholds of what is acceptable. There are other options out there. Once he gets situated his service will get better, or it won't. I think some of these establishments order the paint from their supplier after you order it from them. Perhaps the shipping labels are generated when they put the order into their supplier and part of the wait is the time it takes for the supplier to deliver your order to the reseller. If you are not willing to wait from a supplier you know takes a long time to deliver (which is most of the small volume auto paint resellers) don't order from them. Go to Walmart or your local auto parts store and get instant gratification.
  16. I started with model aircraft around 1973 or so. As I got older my interest shifted to model cars. The father of one of the families in our neighbor hood worked at a store (can't remember which one) and he brought kits home by the case and sold them to me for $5 each. This was when kits were in the $8-10 range. Just now thinking about it, I may have been purchasing stolen merchandise. I took 30 years off and just recently started back into the hobby.
  17. I enjoy these articles. Having photography as another hobby I am not very good at, they give me some new ideas to try.
  18. Welcome Mike. I started using your paints after hearing Steve recommend them. I have not been disappointed.
  19. I would like to sit and watch someone who does this kind of work. I mean sit and watch from start to finish.
  20. Saw this while browsing eBay. Here
  21. Here I am barely able to glue 2 premade pieces together. Can't wait to see how this one turns out.
  22. I used to race 1/8 scale on-road. There used to be an east coast series of races, Mid-Atlantic Championship (MAC). I had a lot of fun doing that. Had some spectacular 60 mph crashes as well. Ahh, the good 'ol days.
  23. Not sure how many kits get made in a day, but is it possible all the warpage issues are from a single batch or single day.
  24. The ones I have are stamped Champaign, Il
  25. I have ordered from them several times. I just fill out the form and mail it. Not the fastest method, but it does work.
