Is it just me, or has the site slowed down again?
Xingu replied to russosborne's topic in How To Use This Board
I am also getting that pop up message. I run an ad blocker and it is still pretty slow. I know it is limited on what can be done on the admin end. The only other option would be to switch to another program and/or server. Unfortunately, that would probably mean we would have to pay to use this site. Not to mention the extra work that would create for someone. Keeping a popular site up and running isn't cheap. I think most of us can put up with the site being slow, even if it is a bit aggravating at times -

Classic! No frills, gives you the info you need. -
Get well and don't let them keep you in there longer than needed.

1967 Dodge Coronet R/T 426 Engine Colour ?
Xingu replied to 72 Charger's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
'67 B/RB motors were turquoise. I don't remember ever seeing a 273 in other than red. I think the 318 in my '67 Charger is red (but not going to the trailer to check). The 426 Hemi was definitely orange. -
This is one of those toss up questions. Some will say it is OK, others will say you are going to die in a fiery explosion. My thoughts are as long as you are venting outside you should be fine. Do not let fumes buildup and don't spray directly into the heater. Read the precautions that came with the booth, spray can, airbrush and compressor.

Bootlegger '40 Ford
Xingu replied to ANovaScotian's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I watched a NASCAR (I think) documentary recently. In one segment of the show, several good ol boys detailed exactly what they did to their '40 Fords to make them better liquor runners. This included engine swaps and suspension modifications. I don't remember the specifics though. -
Ck this one out. And I'm not a 40s car guy
Xingu replied to gtx6970's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I like mild customs, one's that can be put back to stock fairly easy. It is almost heartbreaking to see what is done to some of the original classics. I hurts to see original Lincoln Zephyrs torn to shreds. -
There are sites out there that show instructions, boxes and parts trees from a lot of kits. Just do a search of the kit and see if anything pops up.

This is a joke, right?
Xingu replied to Ace-Garageguy's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
It doesn't matter if it is a kid or an adult that made it. He is obviously proud of what he built and was nice enough to share it with the world. The world of course passed judgement, as they are known to do. There are people with varying abilities that post on this forum and I don't see the level of negativity directed at them as was directed at the anonymous person in this video. At least he finished the model, as a kid I abandoned many models when I made a mistake or didn't like how it looked. -
What are you viewing the photos on. We went through this discussion not that long ago. It is usually a setting on your end that is trying to fit a photo into a view area. Your browser shouldn't distort the photos, it should make you have to scroll to see a large photo.

Most of the major mail sorting facilities have overhead, enclosed, soundproof walkways with exterior entrances. This is so postal inspectors can randomly monitor the postal workers below to see what shenanigans they are up to. I have also been in 2 different UPS facilities that had rooms full of stolen goods that were recovered from their drivers. Bad people work everywhere.

Well done Steve, another beautiful model. Your shelves are full of amazing builds. Can't wait to see whats next.

Nicely done, makes me want a 1:1 version of it.

For the record, this thread has cost me a good bit of money.

No worries. Glad to help when I can.

Click on "Account Settings", Settings isn't clickable.

Not sure if anyone answered this for you, but you should be able to log on (from the old computer), go to your account settings and change the email address to the new one. Then on the new computer, click on forgot password. Everything should go to your new email address.

What did you see on the road today?
Xingu replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Would be worth it! So far my best ride has been riding shotgun in a De Havilland Otter. The smell of burned oil while flying is something you don't soon forget. -

I would definitely take a ride in that if I ever had the opportunity. -
I have one (almost) like this in my driveway!

I saw what looked to be a nicely done (maybe '69 or '70) GTO convertible. It was black with a white top, it looked a little weird. I think it needed a stripe or something to break up the solid black. Sorry, no photo. We were going 60 mph in opposite directions. -

Well, it doesn't say what profession he is a pro at. We do know that he is not a professional painter, photographer or model builder. -
I have tried a few times to get that slant six at a reasonable price, with no luck. Great score!
