  1. Nice group of models and an excellent way to show them off.
  2. They ran a '65 Coronet AWB, IIRC. I also think they briefly had a Challenger (but it may have never been raced, only tested). Edit: I have been looking on the internet to check my facts, but can't find anything. I really do seem to remember them having a Coronet. Maybe they rebadged it as a Belvedere for a single race or something. I seem to also remember them disguising a '70 Cuda as a '71 for a race or two.
  3. Yes, it is reusable. You can leave it in the tub or you can run the used stuff through a paint strainer and put it back in the original container.
  4. These are the models that I have finished in 2016 after returning back to the hobby after taking several decades off. I have more patience now and my model building skills continue to improve (slowly). I have learned an awful lot from this forum and am glad I found it. Have made many model building friends, even though I have met very few of them in person. Looking forward to 2107! AMT 1941 Plymouth Tamiya Mitsubishi GTO Tamiya Porsche 959 Monogram 1970 Superbird Monogram 1969 Dodge Super Bee AMT 1971 Dodge Charger - I was home sick and highly medicated when I built this one. Nothing fit well and I repainted the body 4 times after messing up the black in the door gills. Finally just left them white. This one will be displayed on a back shelf.
  5. At least you have a decent chance of straightening out a warped chassis. Some parts are nearly impossible to fix.
  6. I really need to make it up to that toy show one of these months. I know a lot of folks don't like this thread, as they view it as showing off at times (when folks score great deals or show that rare kit they just got), but it is one of my favorite threads. I often get to see things that I didn't know existed and get new ideas for future projects.
  7. My guess is there is a clause in most of the F1 contracts that doesn't let you retire and come back next year with a new team. I think that when you retire the team still owns the "rights" to you for an extended period of time. Mercedes should have someone ready to jump into that seat at any time. Why else would you have a driver development program.
  8. I read the article earlier today. He set a goal reached it, now he will be on to other things (family related). He may not race F1 anymore, but I doubt he has given up totally on motorsports.
  9. Taking this to the extreme.....If enough people stop buying kits because they are expensive, they will stop making them all together. I guess we could still get Pocher or other similarly high end models.
  10. I am also getting that pop up message. I run an ad blocker and it is still pretty slow. I know it is limited on what can be done on the admin end. The only other option would be to switch to another program and/or server. Unfortunately, that would probably mean we would have to pay to use this site. Not to mention the extra work that would create for someone. Keeping a popular site up and running isn't cheap. I think most of us can put up with the site being slow, even if it is a bit aggravating at times
  11. Classic! No frills, gives you the info you need.
  12. Get well and don't let them keep you in there longer than needed.
  13. '67 B/RB motors were turquoise. I don't remember ever seeing a 273 in other than red. I think the 318 in my '67 Charger is red (but not going to the trailer to check). The 426 Hemi was definitely orange.
  14. This is one of those toss up questions. Some will say it is OK, others will say you are going to die in a fiery explosion. My thoughts are as long as you are venting outside you should be fine. Do not let fumes buildup and don't spray directly into the heater. Read the precautions that came with the booth, spray can, airbrush and compressor.
  15. I watched a NASCAR (I think) documentary recently. In one segment of the show, several good ol boys detailed exactly what they did to their '40 Fords to make them better liquor runners. This included engine swaps and suspension modifications. I don't remember the specifics though.
  16. I like mild customs, one's that can be put back to stock fairly easy. It is almost heartbreaking to see what is done to some of the original classics. I hurts to see original Lincoln Zephyrs torn to shreds.
  17. There are sites out there that show instructions, boxes and parts trees from a lot of kits. Just do a search of the kit and see if anything pops up.
  18. This post was convincing enough to make me order a few. I love the old Mopars.
  19. It doesn't matter if it is a kid or an adult that made it. He is obviously proud of what he built and was nice enough to share it with the world. The world of course passed judgement, as they are known to do. There are people with varying abilities that post on this forum and I don't see the level of negativity directed at them as was directed at the anonymous person in this video. At least he finished the model, as a kid I abandoned many models when I made a mistake or didn't like how it looked.
  20. Hopefully he gets settled in and caught up. Whenever I need to make a purchase, with all the people that say they will no longer buy from him, I should be able able to get a quick turnaround on my order.
  21. What are you viewing the photos on. We went through this discussion not that long ago. It is usually a setting on your end that is trying to fit a photo into a view area. Your browser shouldn't distort the photos, it should make you have to scroll to see a large photo.
  22. Most of the major mail sorting facilities have overhead, enclosed, soundproof walkways with exterior entrances. This is so postal inspectors can randomly monitor the postal workers below to see what shenanigans they are up to. I have also been in 2 different UPS facilities that had rooms full of stolen goods that were recovered from their drivers. Bad people work everywhere.
  23. Well done Steve, another beautiful model. Your shelves are full of amazing builds. Can't wait to see whats next.
