Hit a snag with my '55 convertible, so I started working on this Nomad. This was a new kit and for some reason the crossover pipe for the exhaust was not included. This particular model had horrible flash on every single part, including the body. Cleaned it up as best I could. This is about the point most of my models start to go south, so I decided I better snap a photo. Chrome is a combination of BMF and Molotow Chrome pen.

This all happens in the "real world" as well. It is a much smaller percentage of people that will say things to your face. Most just hold their tongue(this rule apparently does not apply to the internet and our keyboards). The problem isn't the differing opinions or ideas. I think a portion of the conflicts start because people just cannot express themselves effectively and what they feel is a perfect explanation comes across as harsh criticism to someone else. That is when everyone jumps in and picks sides. That is also when things start to escalate into personal attacks. If we would realize that we are not always right, and do not always need to get the last word in, things would be much more peaceful. Of course, there are also some folks that just do not like each other and will fight about everything. They are few and far between though. What happens on this board happens on every other board out there, to some degree. I am on boards for photography and aquariums and it is all the same stuff, just the names are different.

I think of this as an expanded model club that meets 24 hours a day, every day. You can talk shop, catch up on the latest tips and techniques or just rant about anything else in the Off-Topic area. It's a place where (mostly) like minded folks can get together and show off or comment on others models. It is a place where the hobby we all enjoy is appreciated. This place gives us access to advice, parts and entire kits that we might not otherwise come across. The knowledge that is online at any given time is immense. We have everything from the old pros, that have been there and done that, to the newest builders, that look at everything with a fresh perspective.

Now you have been bit. You can complain to eBay about that practice.

So it was an interview hidden in an interview. He got part of (an important part) Bernie's job. -
Unique take on the '67 Charger. The red accents give me a few ideas for a future build.

Molotow Liquid Chrome. $8-13 depending on where you get them. Amazon is quickest, but more expensive. There are other online art supply shops that also sell and ship. Will have to do a little research to find the right choice for you. Some charge a fair amount for shipping, while others are more reasonable. Good alternative for BMF, IMO, but it can flow readily so you may need to mask off what you are painting.

I like the idea, but in all the photos all I am drawn to is the windshield area. I think it would need to be laid back some. I think a mild chop works. I also do not like the opening behind the front wheel. Not sure how to effectively fix that, but I feel the opening is out of proportion to the rest of the car. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

I tried rushing things when I started airbrushing and got some weird results to say the least. I now let everything dry at least a week before I move on to the next step. Results are more consistent now. -
Welcome! Glad to hear your son is getting into the hobby as well.

email Norm, he can send you a current price list. I believe he has a catalog, that has photos of some of his parts. I think you have to buy it. I have not seen it personally, I am lucky enough to be able to see his merchandise once a month at our club meeting. Shoot Norm an email or give him a call, see what he has and what he can provide. I agree with Pete, everyone is happy with our current technological state. A pen, 3 part carbon paper and a calculator made a lot of folks rich in the past. -
I was wondering if there was room for improvement on these kits. I guess we will find out.

For the same reason there are different cars and colors available for the cars. One size does not fit all. Different people have different tastes and different reasons for owning dogs. What are your thoughts on a breed like Chihuahua. In my experience, they are the meanest dogs on the planet. 3 of the 4 I have been around would have killed me if they could. Most folks would say they would be a great family pet....not me. I have been around one English Bull Terrier and she was a sweetheart. I have been around about a dozen different "Pit Bulls" and none of them was ever aggressive toward me. All they ever wanted was a belly rub or their ears scratched. Occasionally you get a hardheaded dog but in most cases the dog is a reflection of it's owner and training. I believe for a time (maybe in the 30's or 40's) the English Bull Terrier was one of the most popular dog breeds.

I believe it. He probably has a degree in mathematics to back it up too.
