My very first car that I bought in 1964 was a 1960 Opel Rekord. Here is a die cast of the car in silver. My car was red like the one in the brochure. The photo was obviously in black and white.

I grew up about a 1/2 mile from Dodge Main, 3 blocks from Plymouth Assembly and about 6 blocks from the Packard plant. It was a great time in Detroit in the 1940's, 1950's and 1960's. Most of my neighbors and family worked at one of these plants' Here is a picture of the dealership where I bought the car. My wife had the car first and then it went to one of my sons. It has been long gone for a long time.

Thanks for the comments. I keep these cars on a shelf with clear plastic covers off. I have a very soft bristle brush I use for dusting them clean. When I was cleaning the cars to make room for the new cars a couple of the decals started to peel off so I used Tamiya Mark Fit "strong" to reapply the decals. Seems to work great. The decal work on these cars is amazing.
