  4. Could the seat be repositioned? Other than that, I'd say modifying the arms and legs might be the only course of action. I know a lot of the military builders do that to simulate more live action with their figures.

  7. That's a very good way to store those little bottles. I always had a problem of having them sitting around everywhere, and I'd lose them! HAHA I recently acquired four of these from a seller on eBay: I now have organized storage for 64 bottles!

  10. Do the instructions show anything attaching to this part later in the build? I wonder if it has something to do with the water pump?
  11. Sad to hear this. I don't do all the Slapchat, Tweeter, Farcebook, Instantgraham, and any of the other. The only thing I do is model forums, and a few 1:1 car forums. I got tired of all the negativity a few years ago. Hopefully, you will come back to the modeling forums, and check in on the folks!
  12. While the LTD chassis may very well fit the big Dodge, from a correctness standpoint, it would not be the right one, due to the fact that MOPARs have the torsion bar front suspension. Of course, I'm sure most all of the great model-builders here know this, and it may only matter to the sticklers and rivet counters, HAHAHAHA!!! Pardon me, if this has already been mentioned. I just did a sleepy-eyed scan of this thread! LOL
  13. I reworked the quarter vents, starting with marking out the vents to be cut: I cut them out with a Dremel tool: I file down the openings to match a template I made from cardstock: Then, I did this mock-up to see how it looks: Looks better than the vents, I think.

  15. Excerpted from Wikipedia: Relationship to the Edsel[edit] The Comet was originally planned as an Edsel model. Ford announced the end of the Edsel program on November 19, 1959. However, production of 1960 Edsels continued until late November. The Comet was reassigned to the Lincoln-Mercury division to sell at Mercury-Comet dealerships, where it was marketed as a stand-alone product for 1960 and 1961 as the Comet without any Mercury divisional badging. Developed concurrently with the Ford Falcon, early pre-production photographs of the sedan show a car remarkably close to the Comet that emerged, but with a split grille following the pattern established by Edsel models. Early Ford styling mules for the station wagon model carried the Edsel name as well. At their debut, the split grille was replaced by one more in keeping with Mercury's design themes. However, the canted elliptical taillights, first seen on the Edsel prototype, were used and carried the "E" (Edsel) part number on them. While the short lived 1960 Edsels used elliptical shaped taillights, the lenses used on both cars differed in length and width. Certain other parts from the 1959 Edsel parts bin, including the parking lights and dashboard knobs, were used on the first-year Comet. Keys for the 1960 and 1961 Comets were shaped like Edsel keys, with the center bar of the "E" removed to form a "C". The "comet" name was trademarked to Cotner-Bevington as the Comet Coach Company, building ambulance and hearse commercial vehicles.   16. The remaining paint has been removed from the body: I'll run the backside of a #11 blade thru the panel lines to get any residual paint out. Then, I'll be ready to attach the yellow Mustang roof.
  17. A fellow member of OSM forum gave me this "Why Didn't I Think Of That" tip: He suggested using TESTORS thinner on a q-tip. Here, I've done the deck lid and passenger side of the roof. It seems to be working. Thanks, Jeff!!
  18. All the Hobby Town stores around me have gone completely out. Hobby Lobby has a few stores, but not many kits, or supplies.
  19. It's a fine looking Ford! The color looks great for this car! The BMF looks very clean, too! I have a couple of these in the stash. About time for me to build one. Thanks for the inspiration!

  21. I have kept some of my early builds, and later on grabbed another of the same kit, to see if I could improve on it. Sometimes, that's easier than trying to redo one. This build looks like a good effort. Keep scanning the forums and learning as you go. That's how I do it, and I've been at it since the sixties!
  22. MPC made "B" body RoadRunner kits in '75 and '76. Kinda pricey on the auction circuit, but you might find a built-up that could be salvaged for the grille-bumper set-up. The green and white in the first post is definitely a Plymouth.
