  1. Thanks, the grille was actually easy, I shot the whole thing in black Pollyscale and then ran a Molotow pen on the raised portion. The trick was even pressure and speed.
  2. Nice job on a light duty wrecker.
  3. Thanks, and thanks for your advice! Some (maybe most) of these builds are like waffles, the first one is a throw away! If I did one again, I know there are things I'd do differently.
  4. Thanks, I really hated these mirrors. I had the rest finished almost a week ago and just couldn't bring myself to do the mirrors. I finally decided I wanted to get it finished so it took all day (had to do things in stages) but it got done. The Topkick mirrors are certainly different.....
  5. Now that I see the photos, I don't like the way the cab sits, back is lower. It's now fixed but I'm letting the glue set up before I move it for new pics.
  6. Calling it done. Resin GMC Topkick off the auction site along with the 3D printed tank body. Chassis from the Int 4300 except the rear suspension and axle from the Freightliner SD. Sanders from CTM and storage box from AITM. Roman Oil is a real company that has been in business for a few generations though I don't think they ever ran a Topkick. Well, turns out they did run GMC's up to the late 90's when they switched to Petes.
  7. Great job on the entire fleet. What did you use for the chrome on the trailer?
  8. Very well done, I like the crisp line between the colors. What do you use for masking? Everything I've tried has bleed to some degree or another.
  9. Came out good, nice color combo!
  10. I had the cab and hood left over from the Brockway dump truck build last year. I had a chassis from the Pete Wrecker that I know works great for the First Gear wrecker body. I was going to attempt to figure out how to get the Autocar cab onto the Pete chassis but changed direction when I found I'd have to shorten the Pete chassis. I decided to get an Autocar dump chassis off the auction site and found it very easy to mate to the Pete chassis as the frame rails have the same cross section. Working on the paint and decals and, like always, waiting on some parts.
  11. Well, that didn't take long!
  12. The real one was seen at the Bolton, MA truck show a few months ago......Jeff is on the right track.
  13. The wheels/tires are 22.5's by Scenes Unlimited, now sold by STS.
  14. Wanna exercise that brain? OK, what is this going to be? First hint, what is shown is from 2 kits and the wheels/tires are aftermarket. The frame to the rear of the cab won't be seen when it's done.
  15. Excellent job! Weathering is fantastic!!!!
  16. looks great, never knew they made kits of this!
  17. That was almost 2 years ago, Doug Wagner closed his business at the beginning of 2023 and the AITM stuff was retained by Dave's estate.
  18. I haven't heard anything more than a while back his son indicated they were still trying to find someone. If the line ever does come back, there will be a long wait as I expect the number of orders will be insane! I'd probably drop a couple of grand......
  19. Very well done! Interesting color, very close to what a local wrecker company runs.
  20. Ok, I'm very interested in Brockway battery box/airtanks and Brockway fuel tanks. I'd be looking for 24 of each.
  21. When you say trucks, do you mean semis or small truck?
