  1. About 15 seconds over the candle to start, if it doesn't mash down enough you can heat some more and try again. Too much heat too long and you run the risk of melting too much. If you are uncomfortable with the heating, you could drill a #80 hole thru the post and pin it, just have to be careful with the angle and the post isn't too thick, easy to break off.
  2. If you display it with the wheels turned, you'll never see the slight toe issue. Only when it's dead straight ahead and viewed from head-on will the fronts look a little toed out.
  3. No, it'll fit ok, just result in a noticable tow-out when the wheels are straight. At least I noticed it, I suspect many don't. Otherwise, it's probably the best fitting 1/25 scale truck kit I've built to date.
  4. Heat swadge works fine, just hold an exacto blade over a candle. Only issue I found with the new version of this kit is that the tie rod is just a tad too short. You'll only see it if the wheels are straight.
  5. Well done, very accurate to the real one.
  6. Yes, it will have a Gary Wallace Detroit 6v91 but I'm not going to try to cut the hood.
  7. After many months away from building, I picked up where I left off with this one. Chassis is well along, I think I have a final fit for the cab but want to check a few things. I have a few more things to add to the chassis before it goes off to paint but it's been nice getting back into it.
  8. Either a hydro tank or headache rack for chain binders......
  9. Very nice! You should have gone with the 366, a little less power but much more reliable! LOL!
  10. Excellent work, as usual! Weathering is great, just a touch, not too much.
  11. X2, I have one on order and have been concerned the level of fine detail might be lacking.
  12. Thanks for the kind words everyone!
  13. I spend way too much time watching Highway Thru Hell.......sigh......
  14. Started back on this build, the chassis is coming along. I used the IH 4300 chassis and front suspension, rear suspension (and section of frame rail) came from the Freightliner SD. Finally got the tank to sit level (pic makes it look off kilter). Working on the DD6V71 from Gary Wallace (RIP) and the next big thing is to get the cab to sit in the right place on the frame. Wheels and tires are from the General kit.
  15. Well done, that looks like the real one!
  16. Excellent work, especially the metallic paints.
  17. They were discontinued a few years ago. Only colors left are hot pink and transparent rose. Could make some interesting combinations, I've been playing with layering the metallic pearls over different base colors as they seem to let some of the base color come thru.
  18. Looks good, nice to see someone else using the Aztek paints. Not sure if I have the green but I've got most everything else....for now.
