  1. Here's the color I am going for. I could very well have the name of the color wrong. The Tamiya Maroon looks very close, though.
  2. Thanks for commenting, JC. Nice engine. I'm guessing under car headers are not included in this parts pack?
  3. Thanks. I read on the forum that color was discontinued. I did find some on ebay. I better snatch some up.
  4. Thanks for following up. Fortunately, there are several alternatives given here. Also needing a spray can source for Vintage Burgundy paint, if anyone can advise.
  5. I am indeed going for a vintage drag car theme. Thanks for the suggestion, David.
  6. Thanks! I have the version below, stashed away several years ago. Going to have to dig that one out.
  7. Thanks for the info, Bill. I like the look of that engine.
  8. I'm in search of a multi-carb, naturally aspirated Ford 427. Kit or aftermarket. Something to suit a '64 Galaxie in 1/25th scale. Also, any good online resources for the '64 Galaxie would be helpful. My Ford knowledge is pretty thin, please bear with me. Thanks for having a look.
  9. The great guys in our model club pleased me today. Every one of them deserves credit for putting their work on the table for the rest of us to see. I get to hear tips and techniques from some highly accomplished builders as well. Many thanks to them for including me.
  10. Quality work here, definitely a model to be proud of. The wheels and tires especially, are superb.
  11. Agreed. The Chevelles of that era are some of the best-looking American cars. Time they are given due respect in kit form.
  12. I agree. I have an affinity for vintage "tough trucks" of any national origin. A local fellow owns a Unimog. He sometimes picks up his child from Sunday school with it.
  13. Great work on your Camaro. The stripes are laid down well and the enhanced panel lines look very good.
  14. My dad's family was on Pacific Avenue, at least into the '50's. Several family photos show the Tastee Bread bakery in the background. 6th Avenue was at the end of 59th street. I remember going to G and Son's store on the corner. I wish I had asked more questions when more relatives were still living. Thanks for the history you have provided thus far.
  15. You're welcome, Joe. I know my mom's family lived on Stanhope street for a time. I'm not certain where my dad's family lived, although both families moved a few times over the course of years. My parents, my brother and I lived on 59th street before we moved to Pennsylvania in 1972. I was 4 years old, so things are a bit cloudy concerning that time.
  16. I agree with that. Your whole submission was well composed. The story was of interest to me, as my parents and their entire families lived in Brooklyn during that time period.
  17. Don't forget the importance of the anode in the water heater system. http://www.hot-water-heaters-reviews.com/anode-rod.html
  18. The mock up is looking really good. Should make for a tough-looking truck.
  19. Excellent! Great job on the interior and underside details.
  20. Fatigue and an illness have trumped the urgent, around-the-home projects. I will probably just convalesce this weekend. Hope to be in good shape for work Monday. Things are rather demanding there right now.
  21. Outstanding finishes and attention-to-detail!
  22. Fantastic Mercedes! You did a fine job here. The wheels are a nice touch and add a sporty look.
  23. I see some Clearly Scale products in there . I'll be watching for updates.
  24. I can tell you're having a blast with these cars. That's what modeling is all about!
  25. Nice! That's a Ferrari with extra attitude. The wheels and tires are just right. I like the exhaust trumpets, too.
