One of the guys in our group has already spoken up for it. I member when it was one of the Parts Packs on the wire rack thing in our local hobby shop around 1963(?) I built it without knowing to scrape the chrome away from the glue spots. HA! Couldn't figure out why it kept falling apart.
My favorite XKE is the 68 and up(?) series with the uncovered headlights and 6 cylinder engine. IMO, that series has a more planted look. This would be a rare kit as it doesn't seem to be available in diecast.
Thanks for this information. Working in publishing must be maddening. I enjoy every hard copy magazine I receive. I probably subscribe to around 7 different magazines over a variety of subjects and I enjoy them all.
