Efrain, I would suggest a black wash on the grille. That is basically very dilluted paint, to flow into the recessed areas. Give me a call (or a PM) and we can talk about it some more...... Saludos,

Hello, It's finally done!!! First a disclaimer: I'm a motorcycle ignorant. That been said, I was curious about Revell's chopper kits. I called it La Chopa Atomica. Chopa is a puertorican slang for a fish, somewhat similar to a bass. Atomic because the color used is Atomic Orange, a 2007 Corvette color. (What else?) I ended up modifying almost everything. Only the frame, wheels and tires were spared form modification. The fenders were reshaped, added a small tail light, the front fork was machined out of aluminum and tubing, handle bars are brass and plastic, and the fork brackets are sheet styrene, shaped like butterfly wing nuts. The gas tank was widened and a new gas cap was machined. The seat was sanded smooth. The oil tank (4 parts) and the air cleaner housing were also machined out of aluminum. Spark plugs were scratchbuilt and wired. Everything else was wired and plumbed: including: brake lines both front and rear, battery cables, starter, added "fuse/electrical box" with wiring harness, throttle cable, clutch cable, fuel line, oil lines in and out of the oil tank, headlight wire and shifting linkage. Both brake lines have chrome clamps about halfway each, to keep them in place. Different wire gauges were used throughout. A digital speedometer/data/trip computer was machined and the display was created and printed in my computer. Unfortunately, the kit's chrome in the headlight was scratched. But it turned to be my best Alclad job ever. The pictures in the background ARE level. The camera has some "barreling distortion" at macro level. I hope you like it. Then you were right The Revell '82 is a snap and it has the wrong engine. Also, 82's were all automatics. (700R4). The kit also has molded sidepipes that don't belong there. I've heard the '83 Camaro does have the correct Cross-Fire engine. Maybe the MPC kits are a better start. But I'm not a kit expert. I do know you can build the Ghost Rider as a stock '81 or '82. (BUZZER sound) You already have 2 strikes. There were no 1983 Corvettes, as production cars sold to the public, and if there were, they were like '84s, not '82. There were 44 cars made for testing and press release, but they were all pilot cars. In short, the C4 was not ready in time for production and the decision was made to certify it as a 1984 model year. Production started in March '83, resulting in a very long production year. That help reach the 51,547 production number. A 1983 Corvette would look like an 84, but with 15 inch wheels. The original idea was to have 15s and the 16s as optional. It was then decided to keep the 16 as standard equip. It is believed that only one of the 44 samples survived: The one in the Corvette museum in Bowling Green. Since the 1983 model year was skipped, some leftover '82s were marketed as 83s, but the VIN coding clearly show 1982 model year. Does this helps? Thanks,

Marc and others who inquired: Here are a bit more details about the simple yet very effective setup: The airbrush hose is permanently attached to the pressure regulator, but the regulator has a quick connect for easy removal/re-attachment I can use that quick connect port to fill up the tank from my compressor. I usually fill it up to 90-100 psi If you don't have a compressor, or you are out of reach of one, you can fill it up in a gas station like any other tire. WORD OF CAUTION: If you do this, then you'll most likely need a moisture trap at the outlet of the tank. Since this is very portable, I can also use it to fill up car tires if needed. Or to power any air tool for that matter. There you have it. This is very simple yet very useful. I've been using it for over 12 years now. You don't see the moisture trap here because I have it in the compressor. Looking at the pictures I realize I need to wash that tank Hope this helps. Best Regards,

Here's my setup. Eleven years and counting. The moisture trap is at the outlet of the big noisy compressor. I fill up this tank to 100 psi and set the regulator to about 20. That gives me about a week of night painting. Nothing fancy here: A 7 gallon tank, some quick connect hardware, a pressure regulator and the adapter for the airbrush hose. The quick connect allows me to remove the regulator with the hose and use it to fill up quickly, or to use it to inflate car tires, or whatever.

Machined fork bottom, shock, whatever the name is Eventually, 5 minute epoxy and a steady hand will attach them, hopefully in a straight line The wire wheels are for mockup purposes only. I'll use the other ones. I like the subtle increase in the rake. Noticeable but not radical. Thanks,

I'm still waiting for 118 as well. I usually get mags later than almost anybody else. (those mules don't swim well, you know ) Also, as I understand 118 and 119 were printed almost at the same time.
