  1. Very well executed! Nice to see a station wagon too.
  2. Received mine today! I'll do a quick comparison to the Profil24 resin kit: I got the photo-etch parts at a IPMS contest last week. There are some obvious differences, will need to compare to photos to see how inaccurate the resin kit is. I got the guillotine window detail for the Profil because they only supply a decal for that, the Beemax is molded in. I also got the Renaissance wheel/tires because a proper rally car has treaded tires! The Beemax seats look better (how accurate I don't know). Dashboard looks a lot different. The chassis pans are really different, and it does not look like they plan to have an engine option, and there is no radiator pipe like the Profil. There is a separate exhaust pipe (when you watch videos, why is there waste gate flames under the car?). The Beemax body has an obvious flash line on the C-pillar, but that should be an easy fix. The hoods are very different. The decals seem to be comparable, will need to study more to determine who wins. The Beemax lights are so much better, difference is day and night! I'm planning to get the Bobby Unser decals to do his Pikes Peak Hillclimb car.
  3. Received from Japan, the long awaited Audi Sport Quattro. Will post more pictures in the dedicated topic.
  4. Because I splurged on a Fisher B.A.T. this summer, this tragic news is more personal now. Prayers....
  5. His Fakebook page shows all those LSR, and the Bentley wheels which look really nice. The wheels in this kit appear to be resin and painted silver, he even puts on the tires which are also painted. Almost seems like cheating to have that much done.
  6. Clever marketing, *almost* makes those ugly wheels look good.
  7. This summer I got a wild hair to clear the back of my property of trees and brush, and salvaged lumber that got wasted over time. You don't do that sort of thing just a couple hours before a wildfire is heading your way. Prescott developed what they named the International Wildland Interface Code, after we had a wildfire almost come into town (a few houses burnt). When there was a fire in California, there was one house that remained because it was all stucco with no wood. They have prescriptive requirements when you build a new home, with zones at 10 and 30 feet with what vegetation can be allowed. If people don't do anything, the fire department won't bother trying to save that house. Fire sprinkler systems are also sometimes required, with different triggers such as distance from a hydrant, driveway length, square footage; but they become useless when the power goes out and water isn't working. For all this disaster, look to see if those communities had at least tried to have such a code. If I was a millionaire, garage would be concrete, maybe underground, and would have the swimming pool for the water source for a sprinkler system with a gas generator that automatically kicked in. Better than having mere insurance.
  8. Yea, and everyone else. Lack of foresight and proper management of the forest and properties is the issue, but I'll leave it here. I'm sure these are not the only nice cars to get wasted. Put them in a wood box, that's what you get.
  9. I've seen only a couple of these shows. Your comment can apply to all TV reality shows. Cracks me up to have the person trudging through deep snow, like we know it's difficult, but what about the camera man who has the freaking equipment that needs the battery charged, and the lens not messed up? Should be a reality show about cameramen (better with camerawomen) following drama queens around. One day I marathon watched that show about street racing, (Outlaws?) got so burned out with all the ads, and then replaying the last 15 minutes because they assume you forgot what happened during the ads, all the drama with testosterone on steroids, never have watched again.
  10. I know right? Plus the wire grill. Fernando also does that version! I would like to see the contents of that kit, or a built model.
  11. vacation for mortal
  12. holding petty grudges
  13. Interesting subject, I had given thought to acquiring one, but knew better. Compared to their latest, looks so tame. Good job completing it! Nice choice of color.
  14. This Auto Union C resin kit is made by a gentleman in Portugal, FPPModelos, Fernando Pinto, found on Facebook. He laces the wire wheels, not photo-etch. He also fabricates the wire grill for you. Sent payment October 11 for $165.01, received today (Nov. 9). He has some other variants of the Auto Union, and other race cars. Sure that sounds expensive, but look at those wheels! It was well packed too, he even made a custom sized box for shipping. The castings are a bit crude, just need to spend time to clean up. Instructions are really basic. I should go back to his page and download pictures for reference. I sure hope Revell doesn't come out with a kit of this.
  15. I have one of those Mattel vac-forms too, somewhere. But too small for me, made my own box and use the electric (not gas!) range to heat the plastic Bet nobody got one of these, found on Facebook, out of Europe. I like weird subjects.
  16. Yea, and you want to see what they do with your models?
  17. Still waiting for delivery..... So who said rally cars needed to be pretty? The round-round race cars can be, since you have to sit and watch them go round and round. It's different to be a rally spectator, you see them for just a few seconds. Watch how crazy some spectators are at this race!
  18. Still sunny t-shirt weather in Arizona!
  19. I doubt anything really cool like a Koenigegg will be done. If they do the Supra, which the show car looks really nice, that should appeal to the ricer crowd. Since they did the 300SL, doing the Ferrari Lusso would be a hit. Just giving my two cents.
