  1. Since I built a custom Bus with Porsche wheels I had to take pictures of two custom buses seen at local car shows. The third one was completely original, was passed down in a family, was stored in a barn then a shed for decades.
  2. I could elaborate about the elderly drivers in my area, it's predominated by retired folks. My favorite, long line in the left turn lane, when it turns green, each one has about 6 car lengths between cars, so those in the back have to run the red light.
  3. Not so much an irk for today, but for awhile now. I live near the main highway into town (AZ69), so I hear every loud vehicle. So it's a trend now, to have your foreign car be tuned so it backfires. At least two morons drive full on acceleration, then deceleration just to backfire, then full acceleration, then boom bang. I haven't spotted what cars yet, but will be on the lookout. The jacked up diesel pickup drivers are bad enough, I hear them too, the "rolling coal" is one of the dumbest things to do but I haven't seen that here. Yet.
  4. Really nice work, color suits it.
  5. I have entered the what have I got myself into, why am I showing this on a public forum, I better pull a rabbit out of a hat trick time. ? It seems that the body needs to hang on the interior instead of the frame. I tacked the interior together, then tried to get the body put on the chassis. Something ain't right. Tried to use the subframe, modified it to the point of wrecking it. There is no way this engine would fit, so I'm going to rework the suspension by shortening the lower A-arms, and mounting to the side of the frame. That will require new coil over shocks, which I like fabricating. I'm not sure if I should keep the frame, or redo that now. I do know the tiny radiator will get wider, and I have photo-etch radiator face so that's doable. Why.... why did I have to make an already difficult kit even more so?!?!? Been applying several layers of Tamiya putty, that's progressing as expected. I find it funny how Revell made the trunk open, yet no sides up to the body, my wider fenders show huge gaps. They also seemed to expect everyone to put the top on, there is no convertible top cover, so it looks like the trunk hinges will be seen. Will have to make that cover, or make SLR style headrests.
  6. I started on this kit, GSL Common Kit: Revell '29 Model A Russell Stover truck, just looked at the windshield frame and it's perfect. I'll sell it for one million dollars! ? There are some other chrome parts that were defective too.
  7. Very nice! I see you improved the sidelights, and added sway bars, and a few other goodies.
  8. I checked them out, never heard of them before, thanks.
  9. I'll start with "on the road", I see this at all the cruise nights, which is why we are on the road. First time this Honda 600 was out. Many years ago, I knew of someone in town with several of these in his yard, and this was one of them. I got the tape measure out, it's 10 feet long, and 50" wide. It's a tight fit. ?
  10. Hagerty: Martin Aveyard’s world-class 1:24 models are pure car zen, but he won’t sell Awesome craftsmanship, photography, using 3D printing, and I can relate with not wanting to sell builds.
  11. 10th Gen Civic Si with a few paste on parts. That's a hatchback, but I'm not familiar with the goofy roof things. I would go into the CivicX forum to find out what that is, but I get bored looking at the modded Civics. I recently got a chip and an A&N filter, so I'm good.
  12. I entertained the idea of getting a MicroMark Micro-Mark Pro-Etch Photo Etch System, for $120. I don't have any kind of printer, much less an inkjet.
  13. I have stainless steel wire mesh that will be perfect. Only if I finish it. Come upon a hurdle, regarding the engine not fitting, if I continue to use the cradle subframe. Think that part will get ditched, and will have to fabricate a new suspension. As it is now, the oil filter will never come off. Got the other fender done, and slathered on putty. Check out what looks like a rookie mold maker did on the 190 SL script. Which got me to search again for any photo-etch MB emblems, I had done so awhile ago and found nothing. Lucked out, found a source in Germany, and there was only one left! I sure hope the price is correct and covers the postage, so fingers crossed.
  14. I got this body from Shapeways. The resolution (or whatever you call how fine the print is) is good, but I still wet sanded it. But this plastic developed a weird fuzz after some time, so don't know what that is about. Whenever I get around to doing this project, I'll report what I do to smooth it out, it's just part of the art of not doing the easy thing of building OOB models.
  15. I just noticed this thread. I saw what Luke got on another thread, so I ordered some parts, and requested the Mercedes body. Highly recommended.
  16. Not on the road, but tonight's cruise night. Had some bullet holes that could have been fixed. ?
  17. Thanks. As you will see..... Thank you. That's my preliminary choice, but I usually set myself down in the paint booth, and pull several colors, including nail 'polish', and meditate about it. That's what I did for Porndy: This is several short sessions leading up tonight's full out butchering of this kit. Something annoying, warped body parts, tried using hot water which helped, but didn't care to risk wrecking it. Started the body assembly with gluing the front grill part to one side, the tail piece to the trunk part, then the other side to the grill. Used the box, forgot to take a picture! Planned on modifying the back fenders, so the only glue attaching to the sides is at the door. Started to putty the sink marks. After building up all the glue joints with baking soda, cut off the back fenders. Cut sheet styrene, the gentle curves was bent, but did 4 segments. Then lots more glue and soda. The nice thing about this technique, can progress within 5 minutes. One side is Cobraized. A detail I like to do, opening the grill. I'm still debating what to do for the front wheel arches, flare or bulge.
  18. To say it's a masterpiece doesn't do it justice.
  19. This thread devolved fast. ?
