desertscaleclassic.org I finished only 2 models, not worth entering this year, but thinking about a vendor table.

For what, a Corvette? ? Depends on the vehicle, an old International truck wouldn't even get dents, an aluminum body must look different than a steel body? I've used the Dremel to make dents, sanded and steel wool to smooth the divot. Do the other damage like broken glass, mirrors hanging, would be fun.

I'm seeing chaos in the construction industry. Bad enough the building departments are getting worse with overly ridiculous regulations, taking forever to get a permit. Septic permits are taking 6 months now. One job was a new house that I drew the plans for, the builder just told me it was twice what they were hoping to be spending. I just had a client, who was waiting for a loan to close, she wanted to get rolling on a remodel design for a house built in 1900. So I did a couple of site visits to measure, and consult. Cut to the chase, it is a dump, really needed a new foundation, for a start. She told me today that her loan failed, been working on this 5 months. So that was time wasted, while I have numerous jobs months behind (trying to not complain). Anyway, while I was doing Facetime with her, opened the garage door and saw this! Had my hopes up that it was a case of the family not being interested in it, but grandson is taking it. Needs to get the engine buttoned up first, so who knows. People with champagne taste and beer budgets, includes me lusting after that pickup.

What did you see on the road today?

I recently learned about the Ford Wrongbeds, because of the Unibody disaster. Don't think there is a Barnfind thread, so here goes.... I'm an architectural draftsman, picked up a job where the client just bought an old house. We were doing FaceTime with me going around the house discussing what they wanted to remodel. Then I went back to the detached garage they want to convert into a studio apartment. When I opened the door I said "holy cow nice truck!" Told them I had a '48 last century, miss it. The sale will close in a week, there are some beds that were left in the house, I got the impression this pickup was left with the house, because they said something like 'we need to get rid of this.' I said I'll buy it! Then I had to continue with business. Don't know the history, hate to sound morbid, but maybe the previous owner died, widow doesn't want anything to do with this (happens all the time), and the new owners aren't into old vehicles. The engine, which might be the original 216 Stovebolt, has the valve cover and oil pan off, so it's not running. Fingers crossed, I was looking at the GMC and was told the owner wants $9K for it, would rather get this beauty instead! -

Thank you. It's not a secret about Prescott, growing like crazy (what place isn't). I actually printed this out.

Friend in the model club, had a friend give him a bunch of kits from an auction, so he offered the Porsches to me. I've already built the 959 in 3 versions, so that will go in the for sale box. The 924 Turbo is in terrible shape, body got smashed and bent the A-pillars, I built the regular version last century and is in my junkyard, so I could build it. I would never buy the 1/20 scale Entex/Bandai 911 Turbo, motorized, totally wrong wheels and tires, will give that one away. When I saw the stash, spotted the '72 Chevy pickup, still sealed, so that was worth it for me (even though I have several already, might sell). Anyway, the price was right. So even though I sold 4 kits recently, I'm back to too many again. ?

Beautiful! I built that exact kit last century, and the Model Master ivory! I didn't use the chrome sticker for the windshield, think that's when I discovered Bare Metal foil. Sold it from a hobby shop window, for what you would be lucky to get a kit for today. It was my first detailed Enthusiast Series build, so I sympathize with your lead-in comment, you did well.

Thank you very much for your contribution! Nothing like being there in the day. I'll add what a contact on Fakebook wrote about his favorite subject, Alfa Romeo: (25) Thats a 1600 cc TZ1, "Tubolare Zagato." Tubular frame, Zagato body. Was 100% designed to win races (not be comfortable)...and in it's class, boy it did. Value? Upwards of 1 million! This one in particular is a million dollar baby. Doesnt look like that much, does it? It is the racing heritage and scarcity of the car. Hand-made, basically. (48) Alfa 1750 cc GTV! I owned two of these in my past life as an Alfa nut and restorer, but mine were a year or two later, with 2000 cc engines. (70, 90) Another Alfa GTV and the very rare "SS" "- Sprint Speciale, 1300 cc, 125 MPH. I have the Fujimi kits of the Dino, Daytona, and 356 Speedster, and built the Bus with major customization. I would like to get an early 911. Yes it was! Thank you! I should have aspired to be a professional photographer.

I didn't know there is a model of the van to begin with, love the concept and execution. -

More evening shots. One of the DPS officers who was assigned to escort them talked to me, the rally pays for lodging and food, tough detail! So they aren't able to rip on the open road. Saw a pickup with "mechanic" on the door, bet that is reassuring for participants. I was glad to have caught this car show rally!

I returned for the Golden Hour lighting, and all cars to be parked. I never heard of some makes. Didn't bother taking pictures of the muscle cars, even though they are special editions, but I've seen enough of them. There were enough Porsche 911s to qualify for that opinion. I usually don't like street settings, but downtown Prescott has historic buildings, so I like how some pictures came out. Also discovered a new "weathering" detail that I'll have to try.

Just happened to be in town today, saw an old Alfa Romeo, then another classic sports car, with a logo on the side, so I did a quick u-turn and followed them to a hotel downtown. The Copperstate rally was staying the night, last day will be tomorrow. So nice to see these cars being driven, this rally is 1,000 miles. A nice benefit, the latest project I'm building was here, so took lots of reference pictures that aren't posted. Looks like whoever had a Porsche 911 Carrera RS got a discount to join the party. First batch is in bright sunlight.
