Don't be afraid to channel that thing some more. Even with the big Z I did on the front of this one, it still needed some more. Much better! See, it'll work out in the end! Give it some thought. Go to a book store and pick up a Rod and Custom magazine. Plenty of ideas there usually. I like these wheels much better too!

I gotta bump this one too. This is good stuff. I've seen this car and the Impala in person and they are still amazing every time I see them! I didn't realize the Vette had so many working features. Looking good, Mike! That rear Z ought to do the trick for the back. Are you going to do the front next? A drop axle and a healthy Z should have that thing scraping pretty good! I'll be checkin' this one out as it goes along too.

Nice pair of Alfas Dale! Those two sets of colors/sponsors looks good on just about any race car, (especially Porsches ) but these two look particularly sweet!

Looking good Andy! I agree with Kenny about more modern parts. To solve the fan problem you could use one of the electric fans from the Revell 32 Ford kits. Rods didn't all have fans in the 60s either. (those did have overheating problems in standing traffic though) Your decision, just suggesting other possibilities you might not have considered. I will like the outcome no matter how you solve the issues.

If one ships UPS, they pay at least $7-8 to ship a kit anywhere in the continental US. That's normal ground service. Any option gets more expensive for faster service. USPS is definitely cheaper for parts that fit in an envelope but whole kits seem like a draw. Food for thought....

Very true, but...... The First generation Scirocco is kitted, but the second generation has been forsaken. Maybe one day.....

That looks spectacular! Great job Raul! I'm glad to see the windshield was the last hurdle that presented itself for this one. We're ALL are glad to see it done! Everything looks right on with this one, but that's nothing out if the ordinary. Can't wait to see what you've got planned next. Maybe a rod? A RAT rod perchance?

Right on about the stance! And you have that thing right on for stance!!! Looks great, I'm definitely going to follow this one. I also agree that these 5-window 34s do look better with no chop. They have all the attitude they need with just a channel job and a proper rake. Don't let this one get to the back burner, its too cool for that!

The food dehydrators are for drying paint faster. Mal-Wart has one for under $50 and really gets the job done! I even heat up my spray cans in it. Just make sure you keep the temperature at or below 105*. Any more and you risk melting bodies.

^^^^That is a great story! ....and this is a great model, idea, execution and all! I love it. While it wouldn't be a lightweight, It would be able to handle a thousand hp no problem! Again, great idea and well done on the work put in.

Excellent work! The engine looks fantastic, body is just as good and the interior just gets to me. I still have issues with interior detail. You have it down (as do others around here). Great job, especially after a dozen year hiatus!

Forgive me if I'm wrong but, If I have read everything correctly, there are NO judges at a NNL contest. It is soley ballot judged by the people. This type of show was created to take the emphasis off of the awards and place it on the people and the models. I have yet to attend a show, but I will be going to the NNL east in a month and a couple weeks and I'll find out first hand. I am entering some builds and I am NOT expecting to win anything. Just having my builds on the table with everyboy else's builds and talking with other builders is plenty rewarding for me. I agree that the rig should have won, but apparently the "people" liked someone else's build better.

Oh, that's why I keep a flashlight or two near the bench. My carpet is light gray. Perfect for light gray unpainted styrene parts to blend in with..... grrrr! The light helps with contrast to see things a little differently. Little chrome or metal parts will glisten a bit to help to see them. I usually don't give up and I have a near 100% recovery rate so far. (fingers crossed...)
