  1. I haven't built one yet. Although I will, Someone I knew did build one, and his review was similar to this one, except He noted some extra care in the dash area was needed to get it fitted correctly.
  2. looks like a bad reaction, Dont most Nail polishes reduce with Acetone, as opposed to laquer thinner? I have yet to try Nail polish. Most of the paint product I have used lately is Acrylic Tamiya, Auto Air colors.
  3. I heard that Jameston was in Arizona at the IPMS show, and interestingly enough has the ability, or has begun mixing his own paint. Which is fantastic news.
  4. This question is about replicating Gold Plating. I have an Eldon Outhouse kit with some Good plating but not real Good plating. I would like to strip it off and get it cleaned up. I thought of painting it with Gold paint as a base, then following with some transparent yellow, or orange. I wanted to know if any others have done this before.
  5. Wow a very stunning Model. If I have ever seen one.
  6. Very nice work. Overall I think the car could use a little lowering. I haven't had an opportunity to get on of these yet, hopefully soon though.
  7. Looking very good so far, what color will it be?
  8. I am currently building one of these nice kits. I did notice that the wheel backing Plates for the Brake drums are indexed upside down, also when I opened the box, the windshield frame was broken at the top. Upon a closer inspection, I noticed the broken area was plated at the cracked spot, indicating it was broken at the plating process.
  9. To be Able to See Someone else Doing Wheels is nice too.
  10. I have been there a few times, I didn't see a good selection of aftermarket supplies, PE, or Resin. Lots of kits, But thats hard to make a living off of especially when the other stores offer a better discount, I had heard that Andy did have hard to find kits, but is He hiding those in a vault in back somewhere?
  11. If your new to the hobby and using Superglue. You will need Debonder at some point, also a good supply of bandaids might help too. When the Exacto knife slips.
  12. It actually worked out very well, I did just recently scrap it though, it had been outside for the last few years under the Patio, and was starting to show its age, then as luck would have it I ran across a Paasche paint booth in nearly new condition on Offer Up, for a very good price, and I scooped it up.
  13. Liked this one
  14. In my display case, these devices support the glass shelves. I need about sixteen more of them to add four more shelves. I was curious if anyone, has seen anything like this, in the World of Hardware. They slide down, 1/4 chrome rods in the case, and lock down with a set screw.
  15. I have Drybrushed some interiors with silver paint to help highlight areas.
  16. I did it with the headers attached to the engine its a tight squeeze but there is enough flex in the exhaust to get it done.
  17. Really liked Sheps work, I remember looking at the articles, with His stunning realistic dioramas, in the library of my old elemtary school. Back in the mid seventies. Those were so cool, A true Artist shep was, may He Rest in Peace.
  18. The Revell 49 merc has some trophies included in it.
  19. Whats that above the trophys, it looks like some kind of under cabinet flourescent light.
  20. I enjoy creating parts from scratch using Aluminum turned on my lathe. Although I am not of Pete Johnson caliber, it is really cool to say. I made those pulleys for my engine, as opposed to I bought those pulleys from a guy over there.
  21. It does look pretty tall in there. One thing that may help is to flip the oil pan around. The sump should be at the rear. I would also scoot the firewall back and make it flush with the cowl (that's where it should be located) so you have more room at the rear of the engine. I have the six cylinder coming in a trade. Once I get it, I can compare it to a real engine that I have here. The size of the engine looks right. It may just be that it's too high in the frame. I put the Oil pan on according to the destructions, and it is exactly built the way the instructions are pictured coincidentally. Even if the pan were on backwards it wouldn't change anything because the Mounts, and frame brackets only allow the engine to set at one Heigth anyhow, whichever way the OP is put on.
  22. Can anyone recommend a better looking Carburetor for the Moebius 69 Ford 6 cylinder engine? I wanted to use an aftermarket Air cleaner, and was curious if anything better was available.
