  1. What urethane do you use ? - it looks like it works like Renshape …
  2. The base coat on the shell is Alcad gl black - but the radiator itself is semi gloss black - doing as much as i can on the radiator before painting the shell …
  3. The radiator and shell are a single casting - so painting will be a little tricky - and I’ve got to install the fabric strap and rivets around the edge of the radiator …
  4. Credits for the above - Veloce and Primotipo.com - one of my favs …
  5. Swede - if you’ve got a kid - borrow his/her i phone and take a closeup shot of those wheels …
  6. It lives! i’m enjoying the Model Master ‘namel paints too can we have a better look at the finish on the wheels ??
  7. Miller was the first American race car builder to commit to small/light - made possible by change in the rule book eliminating the mechanic/scared stiff/passenger - in Europe - i think you’d have to credit Bugatti - or perhaps the “Charlatans” that built the Pugeots - although these were Two man cars - if you lowered the Frames and used smaller racing tires - the Millers Were the smallest front engined cars at Indy before the rear engine era - so they were decades ahead of their time …. And then there was the Itala - thats another very interesting story …
  8. Some attention to the engine bulkhead - it has a fabric strap that wraps around the edge and is riveted - gotta use my limited stock of .04 rivets … the strap is a strip if masking tape - bout 1 sc inch - colored with a Sharpie ….
  9. https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235084453-revell-and-heller-e-types-comparison/ the English gent posting his build of the 1968 Sebring MGC has an older posting in britmodeller that answers these questions rather well ... I built the Heller E drop top in modified form years ago [in the previous century] to make the Sayer designed lightweight coupe - CUT 7 - the Heller kit really does hold up well - but the Revell kit - I've got the roadster in the box - looks good - go for it by the way - both kit engines are OK - but not as good as the XK engine in the Tamiya Mark II kit - so there's that ...
  10. What the h ll. ?? is this a Morgan ?
  11. Ground clearance for production E couldn’thave been more than 8 inches - probably less - interesting - not surprised - bet you that the Heller kit builds with a more accurate stance …
  12. Do you think that the ride height on the kit is incorrect for the Jag as produced for sale ? In my limited experience with a late series E w a 12 cyl engine - the ground clearance was minimal - a speed bump was a gigantic hazard …
  13. phil! No snow in the Alps this yr? That’s not good … as you may know - Miller held the French racing machinery - Pugeot - in very high esteem … got some color in the frame …
  14. Paint re-do - the fairing under the tail and the footwell fairing were sanded and re-painted - this time I dialed back the air pressure and used a little less thinner - the footwell fairing is feeling much better and the tail peice looks great - even without a coat of primer …
  15. Thanks ‘89 - i do resemble those remarks - - but 3D printing provides me with some detail parts that i cant make …. The Master Club bolts are all over this engine - and this set fr ANYZ provided those hand knobs on the magneto - i aint making those!
  16. Nice to have the .011 wire - the .013s that Detail Master has sold for years are great - but im not sure that i could squeeze 8 of those into the plug wire tube …. Most Millers ran these Bosch magnetos - although their installation varied from owner to owner - team to team …
  17. The engine in the Junior 8 Spl was restored with acorn nuts topping the cam covers - RB Motion makes .025 inchers - thats what these are - concession to scale - these are in fact overscale but im using them - Bentley does machine some smaller hardware - don’t know if he could make these as small as .020 - that would be nearly scale accurate … the plug wire is .011 - darn close to scale correct …
  18. You’ve never had the dreaded …. Fisheye ???
  19. Airbrushed some Model Master Japanese Navy green enamel - the shade of green is perfect for the dark green on the Junior 8 Special - but i got that dreaded fish eye finish - cause? air pressure too high? not enough thinner ? too much thinner? voodoo ??
