  1. Your idea of a dedicated trailer with batteries certainly makes scense Bill.
  2. Thank you Snake. Just put my order in.
  3. Porsche 904 - Cunningham #37 Even though this kit was released by Monogram I still think of it as an Aurora kit, one of their best. I had forgotten how many parts it has. The only thing I see that has changed in this release are the wheels. They are larger than the originals which I can live with though I will change the tires. I have two big projects to finish so this might take a while.
  4. Very well-done Dave and thanks for posting. I see you changed the headlamp buckets, added a spoiler and the rear fender flares.
  5. Well, I be darned! I never noticed that before, but it disappeared soon after. It does not show up at Spa or Reims. Good catch.
  6. Very hard to believe that is only 1/43. Impressive.
  7. Thank you for sharing your build and insight.
  8. It is a relief to see you pop back in though due to unfortunate circumstances. The diecast collection at auction is simply amazing and very tempting.
  9. Yes, the #11 is a modified Gunze kit which I lengthened the wheelbase and rounded over the nose to match CSX2299 before the smashed in nose at Le Mans. Thanks for the kind words too.
  10. This is the Lindberg kit in its original 1964 guise. Built, several decades ago, to look like CSX 2287 at Daytona.
  11. Pierre, I am afraid I do not a any photos of the interior and iP CSX2196 before it became the Flip Top though my guess would be a stock dash.
  12. Forgive me Pierre but I am drawing a blank on "IP".
  13. Here is a good profile shot. (both Miles and engine)
  14. I like what you are doing to make the model look more authentic. Please keep us posted.
  15. Update - dug out some decals and updated the photo.
  16. Beautiful looking model.
  17. Welcome Kevan. My grandfather Kelly was from Ramsey.
  18. After further research the Cunniinham team fabricated their own rear engine cover which closely matches the Aurora/Monogram.
  19. Porsche 904 - the Aurora/Monogram body does appear to have too much droop on the tail. Now you have me looking at the LS body. Hmmm...wait the LS is too wide, typical slot car origins.
  20. I would like to see your Ford Of France build in white.
  21. Because of the scale difference it is not an easy question. Certainly the 1/25 Aurora/Monogram has a lot more detail than the old Monogram but the side shot has me concerned about the shape of the Aurora rear deck line that I had not noticed before. In the end I am going with the Aurora/Monogram.
  22. Andy, you might find this into useful in your build of CSX2287 even though it shows Daytona and the Riverside testing. Guide: Shelby Cobra Daytona / 64 — Supercar Nostalgia
  23. Just found this article on Cunninghams Porsche 904. Lots of good info, several new photos. Briggs Cunningham’s Porsche 904 Carrera GTS | Articles | Classic Motorsports
  24. Ray, the transporter is a scatch built Bartoletti body that Mike Sells built, and I put it on a modified AMT Ladder Fire Truck chassis. Still need to finish it off though with the interior of the cab and lettering. Exoto made a 1/43 model of it.
  25. 1965 Cobra Daytona CSX2606 For the 1965 24 Hours of Le Mans Shelby had a problem fielding cars in the GT class. He had more Cobras than entries. A deal was struck with Alan Mann in England to prepare CSX 2602 and provide drivers, Sutcliffe and Harper, using an entry provided by the Swiss Scuderia Filipinetti racing team. The entry would need a new paint scheme of course, red with a white stripe. The Bartoletti transporter loaded in England for the trip to Le Mans. The transporter at Le Mans ready to unload, though in scale. Model photos The model: The model is a 1/24 Lindberg kit with a 1/25 IMC Cougar II chassis. The longer AC style Cougar chassis matched the Lindberg body and had poseable front wheels. The 5 spoke Halibrand wheels are Gunze Sangyo and the decals are available on-line. Various changes were made to vents and scoops to update the body from the 1964 configuration to the 1965 specification. A special thanks to Mike Sells who decades ago sent me this partially built kit when he focused on smaller scales and built the body of the Bartoletti transporter.
