  1. Excellent model build. The attention to detail really paid off.
  2. Glad to see you back building again. The McLaren looks super and you hid any flaws expertly.
  3. Gorgeous model and the photos really do it justice. Thanks for sharing these.
  4. I am very impressed with your Pantera. Thank you for posting the photos.
  5. Simply outstanding outcome and the attention to the details really paid off Tim.
  6. My great aunt and uncle had one of these Packards. According to my dad they never figured out how to make the heater work and always carried a horse blanket in the front seat, literally.
  7. X2
  8. Much better Andy. Your photo looks a little pale to me compared to other photos I have. This one is before the roof was cut out over the windshield to get some air to the drivers. But then when I compare it to my model looks more silver like Pierre said.
  9. A four door sedan no less. The elevated exhaust is unique but no above the top intake? Thanks for the background info, much appreciated.
  10. Wow, I have not seen these at Lowes. The only thing I have found at Lowes is a USPS Mail Truck. Thanks for posting these.
  11. Ok, I have kept quiet but here goes. For sure CSX2287 was Viking blue in 1964 and Guardsman Blue in 1965 and stayed that way through adventures at Bonneville and on to rest at Simione. Now the rear fender flare issue. Cars racing at Le Mans were required to have the body extend downward to the center of the wheels. CSX 2287 had the larger flare in 1964 but you can see CSX 2299 had smaller tabs behind the wheels like many of the competitors did. Now say good night Gary. OK, "good night Mrs. Calabash, wherever you are". (Jimmy Durante)
  12. I too am looking forward to seeing what direction you go with the Ranchero.
  13. Very well built and finished. Thanks for sharing.
  14. I agree with you on the Welly Corvette but can not recommend the Hachette as it has a separate top.
  15. Very nice Opel and very tempting.
  16. Snake It sure looks like ERTL used the AMT knockoffs in the photo on the box. I am still undecided how far I want to go with this model. The stance is a bit high for me. The hood vents are an issue. I have tried various methods including stick ons and am not totally happy with anything I tired. Here I have added a comparison with a white AMT original kit and a silver Revell promo in 1/25th scale.
  17. Outstanding craftmanship Pierre. The attention to detail really paid off and resulted in a very accurate model.
  18. Way to go Snake. I received the Big A Auto Parts Ertl 63 Corvette today and it is quite a surprise. It is 1/25 scale, quite unusual for a diecast. It is totally unique from my other diecast Split Windows so not from the same mold. Though in original box and packaging there are no knockoffs. I am showing it with a Danbury Mint for size comparison.
  19. Impressive Escort Helmut. The graphics alone are pretty impressive.
  20. Yes, the grille is printed on the nose. Here is a response from William DePooter in Belgium which leads me to think there is a licensing issue with Mercedes for Euro sales. "Funny thing is I cannot find it in Welly's catalog (though I DID find a vendor offering it indeed), but Mercedes-Benz themselves have it in their model car range. Might mean there is more to come - at least Mercedes-wise :-)"
  21. This BBurago 1961 Porsche 356B came yesterday. It is identical to previous issues except for the color which is labeled as ivory. But......it is a mat finish, very unusual. I also saw that Welly has issued a white cabriolet version also. As with the previous releases it is large. Here shown with my favorite 356, a Super 90 from Metro for size comparison.
  22. Mercedes Benz 1937 W125 Surprise! Welly has released a 1937 W125 in 1/24 scale and it is cheap. It popped up on the Bay and I quickly ordered one not because it fits in my collection but because I want Welly to see there is interest in this pre-WW II racing Mercedes. I am still in disbelief! 23. I thought I had all the '63 diecast coupes in 1/24/25 scale until I read Snake's post about an Ertl and looked it up on the Bay and saw the black with red BIG A Auto Parts split window for $4.95 + 4.95 shipping. Now I ask you, how could I pass that up, still in wrapper and box? Only a dollar more than Snakes and from the comfort of my home. Of course, Snake is now back in the influencer category big time that I must be aware of.
  24. You certainly nailed the look. Thanks for sharing the photos.
  25. Very well done Bruce. It has that certain feel about it.
