The XP87, or Bill Mitchell's 1959 Sting Ray racer was a solid resin casting done for Bill Landis and Dave Sposaro and was based upon a Scuderia Scale vacuum formed slot car body. I had to do some reshaping of the fenders and other details. -

Yes, the '55 Ford Panel is the Monogram kit backdated to a stock original. Glad you liked it. -
Footnote: These are a mix of 1/25-1/24 plastic, scrachtbuilds, and diecast. In the '30s, i.e. the Stutz, cars were driven to Le Mans but needed support vehicles.

Sad to hear of your decal problems but your solution was a good idea. Looks very believable. -

Tim, it has been a few years since I got the TDF but I am guessing I bought it on eBay from a vender in Italy. Helmut might have better info from the ebays in Europe. -

Oh my yes. The color, the decals, the details are all spot on. Using a small clip is a great idea. I might have to think seriously about getting one of these kits.- 25 replies

Really well done. I especially like the plug wires and emergency brake cable look to be spot on.

I got lucky a few days ago and bid on a $6.00 Ferrari F12tdf 2015 and was the only bidder. Figuring my chances were zilich I promptly forgot about it till notified that i was the winner. Fortunately, I fall above the age limit too.
