  1. I messed up the intake grilles on my Lambo Countach. I think I have seen this screen before on a Ferrari kit. Can you get this "aftermarket"? Thanks
  2. Thank you to one and all.
  3. What about sealing the tape-edge with clear paint? I read about this in model magazine.
  4. Looking for the instructions for 2 kits: '64 Dodge 330; and: '62 BelAir. Thanks
  5. My 2 cents worth: I use cigar boxes. They are between $3 and $5. The income from these boxes (of the cigar store) goes to a charity. They are all wood.
  6. Liquid cement is too thin, and Army Painter plastic glue is too thick. I have tried "Faller" brand and it is too thin for me. Please recommend something to me. Thanks
  7. I went and bought a new kit. I'm grateful for all the comments.
  8. You're absolutely right, Dave. Other people did not seem to have any trouble fitting the grille/bumper. And Scott, I was just trying to "make a funny". I appreciate the photos of other builds of the '57 T-Bird. They look great. And if worse comes to worse, I could just buy another kit. Thanks for commenting.
  9. Mr. sfhess: I am deeply offended that you think my build, if it can be called that, is a glue bomb. I'll have you know that I am putting a shortened NASCAR chassis under it, and a 1/25 scale Ford Cammer engine. Thus I cut away all the underhood 'stuff', like the inner wheelwells and the radiator. So there was really nothing to attach a new radiator to, or for that matter, the chrome front assembly. I do apologize for the mess I photographed. I will publish more photos - maybe.
  10. So: anybody ever build this critter? Well I have. The fit of the front chrome grille/bumper is pretty bad. I 'took' my Dremel grinder to it for about a 1/2 hour, both on the body and the chrome piece. See for your self. I'm sure a bunch of you folks could have done better. I really did not fit the piece: I used epoxy and just held it in place (for another 30 minutes)! Go ahead, you try! The '57 is one American classic for sure, but the kit is not so hot. The '57 was a one-year-only design.
  11. Your warning, Ace, was right-on. Will I ever learn to trust your judgement? Eventually, yes (probably).
  12. I don't recall what paint I used. I put it on too heavy. I think I will try 'Castrol Super Clean'. Thanks
  13. I have no idea. I guess I will contact Shapeways.
  14. What solvent should I use? I have (Castrol) Super Clean on hand. Thanks.
  15. Well thanks everybody. I sure got an education.
  16. The Bel Air had coil-springs in the back. Did it ever use traction bars, maybe ladder bars? Thanks
  17. 'Bet Your Sweet Bibby' Ford kit: what year? Is it the '67? I was hoping for a reissue of the '66 '7-Litre'. Thanks
  18. Hi. Anybody ever build this kit, the 1/25 Ford Galaxie '7-Litre'? Are there any major flaws I should know about? In '66, my Dad and I went to the Ford dealer for him to order a new company car. I saw one of these in the show room, red, with the big '7-Litre' badge on the front fender. But my Dad needed a more basic 4-dr. vehicle. But I tried mightily to get him to order the '7-Litre', all to no avail. Of course Jay Leno has one of these he restored. Is the Cammer engine in the kit any good? Thanks
  19. Beautiful photos.
  20. Use "3M Super 77 Multipurpose Adhesive" aerosol. Spray it on nice and heavy and immediately dump on the Flocking.
  21. This paper, I think, is what we used to call "construction paper" in grade school.
  22. The paper was in the store by the art supplies. It is not the heavy paper used for 'matting'. The lady in the store showed it to me and said it was 'special paper'. The sheets are about 14" by 14". There were many different sheets in many different colors. It was a rather large display.
  23. Thank you Keyser for all the great photos---I had no idea!
  24. Hello. Hobby Lobby has what is called 'special paper'. It is 79cents a sheet, comes in every color of the rainbow. It is textured on 1 side. The fact that it is 'foldable' or 'creasable', is actually an advantage as you just add the Canopy Cement in the crease. I've tried ribbon and medical-tape; I like this. Thanks
