Cool, good to know. I remember holding onto one of these when our Walmart was closing out of model kits. Didn't really have time to build anything then so i put it down. Regretted it every time i looked on eBay. I'll pick up a couple of these. My favorite style full size pickup.
Yup! That's why I love building models. Although, I think I would still build scale cars even if I had the dough. Brandon, your F40 is looking great. I love seeing them in different colors too.
Watching the Daytona 500 i noticed that the cars have switched to digital gauge panels. It makes sense, but there's just something about the look of a dash array of gauges with bright red needles, I'm gonna miss it.
The S2000 is your standard Tamiya curbside so the engine detail molded into the chassis will need to be removed. Don't know if anything else needs to be removed.
He he yeah but my friend's is far from a stock F20C. This is more than what I want to do for this project.
I did get a bit of work done this weekend. Most noticeably, the mold seams smoothed on the front fenders. First coat of white primer doesn't show any signs of them. Worked on the rear air dam and some interior as well.
Not doing any engine detail. Hobby Design does make a kit to retrofit under hood detail and a Honda F20C engine but that's more fabricating than I'm up for on this project.
This is the goal, sans rally decals.
As you can see this car sits LOW! Does anyone have any tips or suggestions for lowering a Tamiya kit?
Adding a couple aftermarket parts to replicate a friend's S2000. The first kit I bought was a Right side drive only so I had to pick up a second that had the Left side dash option. It's coming in handy as I am fitting a spoiler and building a front ground effects kit from scratch. The second body allows me to do that with a spare body while working on the modifications to the rest of the body.
The seams on both bodies are atrocious!
New exhaust fabbed up.
There's some nice photoetch pieces in the Hobby Design kit
The front air dam and some work on the intake and removed stock hood.
I just use an HP all in one inkjet. Works great for everything. Obviously anything like white text is going to be difficult but one way to get close would be to create a background as close to the color of the surface you're decaling and the white text would be the negative space. What kit/conversion is that Camaro?
I'm on Xbox live as BeeToast. Play lots of different games including Forza 6. I'm probably not the coolest person to race online with, I'm a firm believer of the 8 tires corner better than 4 method of racing in that game.
Any updates on this Scott? I just got one and am interested in seeing more of what I'm in for. I see what you mean by the detail, some parts are almost cartoony.
Sweet Deloreans! I always thought it would be cool to build all the versions of the car.
Here's one I built about a month ago. Figured it was the perfect time to put it together.
From the AMT release of the kit.
