  1. I'm interested to see how well this Protar F40 body goes together. Yet, exhaust system, all one piece.
  2. This car looks so good in colors other than red I'm surprised we don't see more done in unique colors. I have plans for a blue one as well and downloaded that same picture for reference. ? Really liking your progress and eager to see more!
  3. I just tried and they're all out of stock. ?
  4. Cool. Thank you for the ideas.
  5. Does anyone offer a 4x4 conversion for Revell's 97 Ford F150 kits?
  6. Only one this yeah. Very busy with the new house. Built a mashup of movie concept Bumblebee and Transformers Edition Camaro.
  7. I've actually been into finding old kits lately that I enjoyed building before. It feels good re-building a kit that you remember being fun. Also seeing if it was as good as you remember it. It is good way to get a visual mark on your progression as well. A few that I've completed. (even have my original builds to compare) Aoshima / AMT Back to the Future Delorean. Monogram / Revell 1:32 Ferrari F40 Jeff Gordon Dupont Monte Carlo
  8. Your F40 is looking great. Keep up the awesome work!
  9. I'm very excited about this!
  10. Good decision on the wheels. The carbon fiber panels add a really nice contrast. I also dig the two tone interior.
  11. You could also try baby oil. I had something similar to what you're describing happen on this Porsche when I taped it to paint the trim. Rubbed it with a Tshirt scrap soaked with baby oil and voila!
  12. Had to make a large lap around the metro yesterday but was able to visit 3 hobby lobby stores. One was cleaned out but left the other two with a couple of kits and lots off paint!
  13. Built this one a few years ago. AMT/Aoshima kit, very fun to build!
  14. I'm in the process of building a Tamiya F40. Looking through all my reference pictures I know what you're talking about. What I did is pick up some Scale Motorsports Clear carbon fiber decal sheets. They have a carbon fiber pattern and the negative space is whatever color you paint the part. Then you just paint the parts different shades of yellow or grey and apply the carbon fiber pattern with the decals.
  15. NNL North is less than a month away! I'm hoping to have a couple builds wrapped up and ready to show. Anyone else planning on attending?
  16. Was shopping for kits with the niece and nephew. I told them to find a car they think would be cool to drive in real life and then we could build their model how they would if they owned the real thing. My mom points to the Camaro and says, "That's the one I would drive." Well me being me, when someone tells me about a nice car I always have to ask, "Yeah, but what color?" And that is how my next project came to be! I just missed her birthday so it'll be a belated gift. Using AMT's snap version of the car to build up quick. It is a very nice kit. Good looking body and stance, with plenty of detail in the chassis and interior to pick out with a brush. Started with hot rod grey primer. Then a base coat of Testors One Coat "Graphite Dust". Interior with be a Black/Grey combo. Wheels are soaking in whitewall bleach. They will be dark as well. I'm not often a fan of black wheels but I think with this color they have to be darker. More to come soon!
  17. Yeah that didn't come across quite like it was supposed to. Within the selection that is on sale, most are in that price range.
  18. Stopped by Hobby Lobby tonight and they are clearancing a bunch of kits. Most automotive kits going for $6.75 - $7.50 each!
  19. I just want a solid, accurate 1969 Chevelle.
  20. Definitely excited to see this come together. Very nice work so far!
  21. This is just their Syclone kit with a lifted suspension and without the Syclone specific body cladding.
  22. I'm a huge S-Series fan so I'll be able to look past the scale. Had the bright blue release of this for some time now and it looks like it's well made. The only thing stopping me from building it is that i wanted to do a white Baja S-10 and scared I'll never keep the blue from kreeping through. I have the Chevy grill and engine. Interesting note on this kit is that it has the Syclone engine.
  23. I'd just say "Full Scale".
  24. The work bench is packed up at the moment. Had to tear down some walls in the house so put everything away to keep it safe. Hopefully be back at it in about a month. I was moving stuff around in the basement tonight and really wanted to sit at the bench and do a little work!
