Revell 1970 Dodge Charger R/T 426 Hemi - Sublime Green - Build #2
El Caballo replied to RandyB.'s topic in Model Cars
68-70 Chargers are awesome and are my favorite Mopars. Such a well detailed model. -
I have a different version of that Matchbox, it is metallic pink (!) with a Grump Lump on the hood. Still got it after all these years.

56 Ford Arggghhhhh - ever dropped one? Of course you have.
El Caballo replied to randyc's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I'm working on a '66 Galaxie right now, as I was gluing the interior to the body my finger bumped a seat that was glued in and that bumped the console and all came unglued, including me. If I had an M-80 it would be smithereens right now. I literally had to set the kit aside. -

I'd love to see re-issues of some Jo-Han models, particularly their Cadillacs and the cool race cars they used to put out. I'd like to get the Revel tri-fives with the opening doors and SBCs that were super detailed. Also, any of the 70-73 Firebird models. If anyone at the model companies are listening...

Looks great, proper color and all.

Does anyone make a back half of the chassis?
-
Wow, the whole driveline and chassis, particularly the front, is a trick setup.

Gulf livery is my favorite.

Strewth, that is one beautiful build, hard yakka to get it to that level. My hat's off to you.

Wow, that looks great, really good detail. I'm getting one of those.

When I was a kid I did several of those in 1/43 for a diorama that my little brother and I made. We had some sort of tray and used real mud and real twigs to represent blasted trees. There were fighting positions and all that. I painted the wheels and undercarriage in desert tan and splayed the paint brush and made splash marks on the side of the fenders and body, it looked realistic too, and of course the obligatory bullet holes made with a lighter and one of my mom's sewing needles. What fun.

I have the AMT 1970 Ford Galaxie police car kit and I want to make it in the Las Vegas version. There aren't many stickers for this version which is fine, but there isn't anything in the kit that tells you where to put the numbers for the squad car. I have looked at the pictures on the internet for "Diamonds are Forever" cop cars, but since it is all night time scenes it is really hard to see where the number might be. I think there is a number on the passenger side trunk near the tail light, correct me if I'm wrong. If anyone out there knows the correct location of the squad car numbers, please let me know.

It does, thank you.

I have not seen one of those on the road in better than a decade.

Let's see some more pictures of the purple one as well. Well done, I love the colors.

donb, what did you do to fill in the corner lights? Was it Bondo glazing putty?

I haven't bought a curbside kit since my Snap-Tite days back in the 70's. All my models have engines and I build them for me to look at and flick open that hood and admire my own work. I can still remember how the pushrod engines of the past sound and I can look at my models and recollect those days. Part of the fun for me.
