  1. I am pretty much anti car show, so I skip most of them. I went to the Wicks Road one maybe 8 years ago and most of the vendors were selling die-cast cars and garage sale stuff. Same show, the entrants started leaving before the awards were handed out. Like at 1 PM.
  2. I'm on my phone do I don't have a link. The show flyer is available on the LIARS main site and their FB page. I'm not sure if the Vendor tables are sold out. They were going fast. I'm a Vendor again this year. Try to make it, the venue is the same at the Freeport Rec Center, right off the Meadowbrook Parkway. I'm not sure if the food court is open.
  3. With all the acorns in my yard, I am careful about where I go barefoot. I'm going to try to locate the chestnut tree/trees in the woods next door. It us pretty dense so I can't wander in far.
  4. I believe this is a chestnut ?. I have no such trees around. But I have woods close by. The critters must be bringing them in.
  5. Nice. I saw the Mercury at 231 on Saturday.
  6. I use floral wire from crafts stores. I have used pieces of paper clips too.
  7. I have been finding these spiny seed pods in my front yard. I'm here 38 years and this is a first. I have around 20 of them. I looked it up quick, some sort of weed seed pod.
  8. I toss the kit steering column and make my own. Also the dash bracket that holds it. I'm working on one now using the AMT '56 Ford engine. I had to use the short transmission that came with the '40 kit.
  9. Not my yard, but out east on the Island. They have had a buffalo herd for years. There were little ones and huge males that were hanging out in the distance. We couldn't get any closer than this.
  10. I tend to remove side trim from almost everything I build.
  11. This is the car. I missed the church show, I was out east and got home late. I may do the DPA/231 event this week. Once in a while we have dinner at the Italian place.
  12. I saw this in a driveway. Looks to be a 55 or 56 Plymouth. The sharpening service truck my son saw by Long Beach. I remember those around when I was a kid.
  13. This was one that needed to be re-homed so we took her in at age 4. She was my late wife's BFF. They were inseparable. I was recovering from heart surgery in 2016, her and our little cat who was 5 months old were by my side all day, every day. They make good nurses. So I was devastated when she had mandibular cancer. We all were. The cat and my girlfriend had a special bond too.
  14. I was moving cars around last night around 9. I'm on my front walk and 2 small raccoons walked right up to me. I jumped out of my skin since I hadn't put the front light on. When the motion activated lights on the garage came on, they split.
  15. I lost one to cancer in 2022. She was the best cat ever. We all still miss her. She was more human than cat.
  16. Perfect, very well done. A ton of work I'm sure. These type of builds are the most fun.

    Ole Blue

Very accurate. Len was not known for his pretty race cars. This was the car that Fred DeSarro was killed in at Thompson.
  18. 1966, it does drive well. I'm not sure if I'm going today so far.
  19. Very nicely done. The hubcaps are accurate as well. I would like to build a '66 Belair version using the '67 four door kit to replicate my car.
  20. I have some Lindberg '40 Ford kits in the stash. Still my favorite is the AMT kit. I have 2 in the works that I need to finish.
  21. Where was this? I would have taken the Mustang for sure.
  22. My Belair is next to the red '57 Chevy. I'm not sure if I'm going yet. The venue is open until the end of the month.
  23. A couple more of Ivan being semi sociable.
  24. A buddy of mine. His family had a 61 4 door that was a show piece. I had a 62 Starfire convertible and a 64 88.
