  1. Wow. This just gets more and more impressive. This is a museum worthy piece Harry.
  2. Looking great Luis. Very nicely done.
  3. I certainly see your point and agree with you. But, I'm shooting for a period look of a car that has seen both salt and strip time in its life. A raked look wasn't something they worried too much about back then. Thanks for the advice Tom, I was thinking the same thing. I've removed the curved tips and the post for the muffled exhaust and have drilled out the end, in keeping with my theme. More soon.
  4. Got plenty done today. She's up on all four paws. I merged the radiators from both kits to get one that will work for this build. Engine wired and near complete. Mesh grill insert made.
  5. Wow. Very well done. Looks great.
  6. Some work. Lots of silver and black. Detail painting to follow. Also started the wood bed. Balsa and 3.2mm i-beam which I'll cut down into bed rails.
  7. I tried the reversed headers idea few years ago using copper electrical wire. I couldn't make the joints as clean as you did so I went with the wrap. Which didn't last unfortunately. Yours is much nicer than what I ended up with.
  8. Same here. We have a few good ones here in Tampa Bay and buying kits for 8-12 bucks is pretty common. Of course anything by Johan or hasn't been released in forever, can run the gamut. And we also have the guys that have all the latest stuff for $28 per. I just pass them by.
  9. I really like the overall piece, but I'd like to just make a suggestion to pay closer attention to scale when it comes to adding detail. 1mm in 1:1 scale = 1 inch in 1/25 scale. So using this tool you'll see that your ignition wiring, fuel lines and the rod for the scoop are a little oversized.
  10. Thanks Carl, I'm just waiting on some time to work the drum brakes from the roadster kit into the wheels from the Corvette and then I'll start painting. I just got the paint paint booth set up in the apartment so I'll finally get some decent paint. More soon.
  11. Engineering Technician for a major aerospace company.
  12. Most impressive. I would not have even attempted to hand paint the graphics. My hats off to you.
  13. Chuck, that's just perfect. The quintessential hot rod in all it's glory.
  14. A very clean and simple way to add the transverse spring perch in the rear. Well done. I'll be looking forward to seeing more.
  15. Looking good Richard. looking forward to seeing it done.
  16. I wouldn't have seen that coming. Looking good Tom. I'm pretty impressed with the kit myself.

Very nicely done. How well does the kit go together? Any issues?
  18. Well knowing me it could end up as a mess but I'll try the mesh first. Thanks for the ataboys guys. So far I'm very impressed with the '29 roadster kit. It really is very modern. They have added these little tabs all over the parts that are very easy to remove cleanly, that were added to the mold to give the ejector pins something to push against besides the parts themselves. I've yet to find a bad part or something that doesn't fit. The mold lines are as minimal as possible (the benefits of a new mold). The roadster itself isn't a priority as I finished a 32 roadster not too long ago, but I will certainly get to it. Maybe someone will master a Duval windshield for it and I'll do that. More soon.
  19. Some updated shots. Got the bed cut out which I'll replace with basswood and the grill which I'll fill with a mess. Getting stuff ready for paint.
  20. Well to put an end to this story. I called him up a few weeks ago and told him unequivocally that I was not going to build his model. He whined and moaned for a while, then I hung up and that's that.
  21. The KISS principle at work. I think I'm going to route my exhaust through that gap in the frame.
  22. Floor - check. Bed cut down - check. Grill lowered - check.
  23. Hmm. You hit the nail on the head right there. I'll be removing some from the back edge. I'll just lower it a bit to make the top of it line up with the edge of the cab. Nothing special. I'll add a couple of cross beams and the rest will be as you see it. My big hurdle right now is the floor pan. The kit hood does NOT fit, by a WIDE margin. No surprise there. I'll do without if I can't figure out an alternative. Tim, looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
  24. A little more work. Built the rails for the bed. The bed will be cut down to the end of the frame. I'm using the"extra" non-used floorboard from the roadster to create the rpu floor which is channeled now the width of the frame.
