  1. Thats just freaking brilliant. I love this.
  2. Not really surprised to hear that. Traditional hot rods have been making a comeback pretty much across the board on the world of hot rodding. And Revells releases for the past decade have followed that trend. It's great to see. Thanks for the pics Tim.
  3. I'm looking forward to seeing this come together. I understand the idea here, but I agree with the guys suggesting better options for the exhaust. The kinked bends in the exhaust would severely effect how something like this would perform if it was a real vehicle.
  4. Very impressive. I like it a lot.
  5. Welcome to the forum Tyler. You do very good work. We're glad to have you.
  6. Dominik, that looks fantastic. A classic sleeper. Great stance, great paint, excellent details. Very impressive.
  7. Another weekend in the bag. Engines done. Top is chopped. Bed is stained. Paint will be old school flat black.
  8. Bingo! I cut about a quarter inch out of the center of a Bic Mini and cut it to length. More soon.
  9. Yep, it's an ERTL diecast.
  10. I do like this a lot. It's got a great authentic look.
  11. Planning. I don't just pick up a kit and say, "I'm gonna paint this blue" and get to building. Most of my work has a larger plan. So I create a list of the kits that I am the most interested in, and create a build plan. I make a list of parts that will be needed either to flesh out the plan or to correct kit inaccuracies or known kit issues. Acquiring those parts becomes the second step. When those are in hand, I'll start thinking about paint, Plastruct, detailing parts or whatever else I'll need to get the model done start to finish. Doing all this planning also help out during those times when we're watching our pennies at home for this reason or that, but because I planned and bought ahead of time, I've got everything I need. Mrs. Mattis appreciates that. I tend not to buy new kits during this time. Moving can be a real downer because we have a need to be creative. Imagination needs an outlet. Planning future work helps me scratch that itch when I can't be at the bench.
  12. Some work on the bed. More soon.
  13. I like those a lot. Great to see your work.
  14. Check out these eyelets at Michael's. http://www.michaels.com/fasteners,-webbing-and-belting/grommets,-eyelets,-and-rivets/853467073
  15. Although it's not a muscle car like the rest that were posted, I finished this '77 Pacer as a sleeper recently.
  16. Does anyone know Wagonmaster, the fella running the CBP this year, and might have an email addy? Race day is starting to get close and we need to start planning. Speaking of race day, if you have already completed your build, please sound off, and the rest of you please let me know what percent you are complete, and whether you feel completion is likely. I'm just trying to get an estimate on potential starters.
  17. I think you did a fine job on this. Well done.
  18. Agreed. Not too bad. But Now it's obvious that is it due to the shape of the rear wheel opening on the 1:1 that keeps it from looking as rear heavy as the 1/24 model. Perhaps if I emulate the stock opening on the model a bit, I might accomplish the same thing. I have acquired a set of glass but they are in rough shape. If you do end up with at least an extra clear windshield, I'd be interested. As far as my build goes, it's still in parts acquisition phase. I've gotten a 1/24 BBC w/dual quads on a tunnel ram from a Monogram '39 Chevy kit. It should work perfectly on this model. I'm still undecided on wheel/tires though. Thanks for replying guys.
  19. Where's Ralph Nader when we need him?
  20. Very impressive. Nice work.
  21. Great work everyone! Keep it going!
  22. Well, never having built or even seen that kit opened I can't speak to it's quality. What I can say, is that I have no memory of seeing that kit built on any forum. That might tell you something.
  23. Well it's a guarantee you'll never have to worry about seeing another one on a contest table. Great imagineering right there. Excellent execution.
  24. Hey that's coming right along. Some great work. Lets see some more.
