Well I gotta say, in thirteen years of the CBP, Scotts truck is the most unusual model to ever win the CBR. But the workmanship speaks for itself and it shows what an excellent builder Scott is. Congratulations. 2008 (SA) - Unlimited 2009 (SA) - Unlimited 2010 (SA) - Route 66 2011 (SA) - 30th Anniversary - 1981 2012 (MCM) - American Graffiti - 1962 2013 (MCM) - Unlimited 2014 (MCM) - 1979 (honoring Brock Yates final run) 2015 (MCM) - Sleepers 2016 (MCM) - Australia (on and off road) 2017 (MCM) - Unlimited 2018 (MCM) – Inline Engines 2019 (MCM) - Vans/Panel Trucks 2020 (MCM) – Movie/TV Cars

Because it's a Nova and a 4-door, my minds eye sees a hot rod taxi. Checker yellow with the obligatory checkerboard stripes, period correct wheels and tires, with a nasty blown big block. No scoop, just the hole in the hood, blower, carbs and velocity stacks. Racing harnesses, front and back, just for grins. Yep, that's what I'd do. ?

I have never built so much as I did during that time period in my career. Looking good! -

I approve! Carry on sir! -
I somehow missed it on the first run. Glad to see this. I'd love a shot of the transfer case.

After thinking about this theme lots, I figure this will be the biggest hurdle. I can make the model look like a stock bodied car, and the wow factor will be under the skin, but that's not the eye candy I want in my display case. I'm not a stock kinda guy. It's gotta fit the theme, be sorta stealthy and non-eye catching, BUT still look cool.

that goes double for me.

That is super slick. A very impressive piece. Where did the scoop come from?

What you do to the model AFTER you've taken the photos for the Cannonball, is your business fella. ? My Cannonball Stude ended up as a Carrera Panamericana racer.

40 Ford 4x4 - update 7/23

My plan is that ..................... or just red oxide primer. I have done many patina rods lately but never just a plain ol primer rod. This might be the one. -

Sometimes. A lot of guys figure that since they have permission from one of the landowners, they don't have to at least contact every landowner they are passing through. There is no legal easement, the road is private, but they have been going through on the assumption for years, that there is one, and get real testy when I challenge them. Something like this? ? Yeah I getcha. As the roll cage and spare goes in and some other 4x4 goodies, that will hopefully change. Thanks man. More soon. -

So this is back on the bench. Drive shafts made, a traction bar added. I'll probably fab up a panhard bar as well. -
Congrats to Oldmopars for a really unique racer. I'd never have considered a semi for the CBR. Well done.

You're welcome. I bought a piece for a V12 that I cut down for a Viper V10. Looks terrific.

I built this a few years ago as my dream rod. However, I also have a dream muscle car, a dream 4x4, etc, etc. Still working on those. ?

Well it is my idea for someone else. I'd like to win next year and I'm not above a bit of skulduggery to do so. ?

Some ideas I've been bouncing around, although I'm pretty set on my Matador. All purpose built race cars with livery modified to race cross country. 1. A road going Hemi Under Glass Baracuda with Jay Leno as co-pilot. 2. Revell Black Widow or Badman on a modern frame from a Foose kit. 3. Revell Bentley Blower on a Monogram 37 Ford chassis. 4. Tamiya Lancia Stratos, deaccesorized for street racing 5. Any Calsonic Skyline done the same way. 6. AMT Piranha or MPC Firefighter Mustang rebuilt for street racing 7. Cut the back off any of the AMT Nascar pickup racers and put an actual bed on it. Add some trim, file down the ground effects - perfect Cannonballer. Lots of possibilities and don't overlook those hot rod kits with the modern Art Morrison style chassis'.

*cough* bump ?

Man, that is really slick. A terrific looking model.

I dig it. Well done.

I've never seen the Cannonball film. No one has ever told me it was that good.
